Strait of Hormuz 'completely open' to commercial ships for remainder of ceasefire

Iran foreign minister says Strait of Hormuz open for remainder of ceasefire

The Strait of Hormuz is "declared completely open" for the "remaining period of ceasefire," says Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
In a statement on X, he says: "In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial vessels through [the] Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of ceasefire, on the coordinated route as already announced by Ports and Maritime Organisation of the Islamic Rep. of Iran."
The US announced it would begin a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz earlier this week, after Iran had effectively closed the world's busiest oil shipping channel for weeks in response to the US-Israeli attack on Iran in February.
We have not heard an immediate response from the US. The two-week Iran-US ceasefire is due to expire on 22 April.

Let's hope that the good news continues.
Ceasefire will unfortunately fail and not be extended, the USA will be dragged further into war.

My guess we will soon see Turkey become a target as well shaking up NATO as tensions between Israel and Turkey increase.
It is open because Iran is losing $450 million a day due to the American blockade, not because of the ceasefire. Trump has really screwed them over with the blockade.

It has been on though. I have not officially heard from US or Iran that they have torn up the ceasefire agreement. Even in the last war between India vs Pakistan. Despite the skirmishes reports. The ceasefire remained largely in place.

But lets see what happens.

Unfortunately unless Donald Trump grows a pair and stops fighting wars for Israel and tells Netanyahu enough is enough if you attack Iran or any other country you are on your own then the reality is this will continue, maybe it stops for now, maybe a few months but it will start again.

I am not here attempting to defend the barbaric disgraceful Iranian regime, but if the US refused to get involved in the initial strikes of which Israel was going to do either way then it would have been far more likely Iran would have avoided targeting US bases and focused solely on Israel.
