How do you personally stay secure online without overcomplicating your life?

We all know the internet isn’t exactly the safest place, but keeping up with every new security measure can feel overwhelming.

Personally, I try to keep it simple. Unique passwords for everything, 2FA wherever possible, and I stay cautious with links and downloads.

But I’m curious how others handle it. What’s your go-to routine or habit that keeps you safe online without making everyday browsing a hassle?

Haha fair enough 😆 at least that probably keeps your online activity pretty focused. Fewer sites means fewer risks. Do you still take any basic precautions, like using a VPN or separate accounts for that stuff?

24+ length unique passwords, 2FA codes (not phone or email when it’s an option), and generally just try not to submit any info unless I’m familiar with the site.

It’s a lot more convenient now than what it used to be, with password managers and pass keys.
- Password Manager/Passkeys
- 2FA on everything important
- Regularly watch content like Seytonic, Eric Parker and a few other malware based channels, I'm not someone who develops malware or even has any interest in hacking others but this content is still entertaining and it kinda keeps you 'in the know' about up and coming malware campaigns/attacks, or even worse, Supply Chain attacks.
- Kaspersky Reputation Scan

Password managers are a blessing, having every single password to any site be between 32-64 characters with the maximum amount of randomisation is really handy for breaches.
Now that password managers are becoming so common, I love having very difficult passwords.

BitWarden password manager and using passkeys wherever present. Use 4 word, 20 char alphanumeric passwords that are hard to guess but easy to type. Tailscale VPN for when I'm on the go (not home Wi-Fi/Data.) Don't download anything that can't be verified. Other than that common sense I think helps!

Keep your internet useage to not be so personal and make sure you dont have everything the same everywhere. Change usernames, passwords. The lot really to keep everything not attached. Dont use sites you dont need to. Keep your self safe with 2FA too.

I do the same stuff every day, so it’s all pretty easy to remember for me. I use a temp browser so it keeps me from saving cookies, I write my passwords down in a text file and RAR it with a password for protection. I keep that file on a flash drive instead of my computer, and finally, I unplug the router from the wall before bed."
Get a Password Manager.

Use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA/2FA).

Enable Automatic Updates.
Using different passwords 2FA and making sure i dont associate online personas to my self.... like not revealing name or emails and stuff. burner emails for everything
