Help with Zemra RAT :(

Hi, can anyone help me with Zemra RAT? The file was uploaded by SIM-5669901. I downloaded the project, but I need help compiling it. I open it in the 2022 version, but I can't because it was made in Visual Studio 2003, and when I try to update it, I get a lot of compilation errors. Can anyone help me? :(

2003!? WTH lead you to choose this thing?? Take a hint from those compilation errors.

If you just want to experience an old RAT, install VS 2003 on Windows XP/7.
Of course you are getting errors, its a super old rat at least like 20 + years , you would need the toolchain used wayyy back then to even compile, which probably wont work anyway, as its ancient code .....or port it to new code.

You are probably better off looking for a newer rat ... ALSO if you are unfamiliar with programming you probably shouldn't be trying to compile and run source code as you have no inking what the code does, that's a setup for a BAAAAAD day.

Okay, I understand. Do you know of any other good, more up-to-date RATs? I've tried Pulsar, but it has a lot of FPS drops.
Oh, well, the thread says that it actually uses VS Code 2010.
You can have a look around the marketplace, there are lots of RATS there. If you are looking for something free, then you're not going to have much luck good and free hardly ever go together.

Yep, I opened the code in Visual Studio 2010, but it still won't let me compile it.

I bave heard of low FPS in Pulsar, though the code is supposed to be tweaked for a stable 60+ FPS. Zemra is going to be a lot worse and may have compatibility issues just with the client. The historical purposes only should tell you that it is not for real-world blackhat hacking.

Did you resolve the C++ dependencies (if they still exist)?
Hey dude, Zemra RAT is ancient, made for VS 2003 so 2022 freaks out and throws tons of errors right away. The upgrade wizard usually just breaks more stuff.
Easiest fix: download Visual Studio 2010 Express (you can find the ISO online pretty quick), open the project in it and let it upgrade to the new format. Then just fix the usual old-school crap: add winsock2.h before windows.h, swap strcpy/sprintf for the _s versions or throw in _CRT_SECURE_NO_WARNINGS, turn on MFC static library in project settings, set toolset to v100, and build it.
Once it compiles in 2010, open that same project in 2022 and the upgrade should actually work this time.
If you hate installing old VS, make a fresh project in 2022, drag all the .cpp .h and .rc files over manually, enable MFC, pick v140 or v120 toolset and try building.
