TON coin at $3 by 2027?

It's a bit over $1 right now, could easily drop below $1, but has a high potential to revisit $3+ over the next year in my opinion. I would love to see $4-7 which can come in time, but it really benefitted from a lot of different things when it did pump and since then there are a few things going against it. For one, we saw countries like France take a stance against TG. Other countries have implemented age/identity verification laws. Crypto has taken a hit. So, I can't say I can guarantee anything at all on TON, but I do believe that seeing it at $3 again is very possible, personally.

I am a conservative investor. If I think something could hit $7 I will prepare for bout $3.50
If I think something will crash to $1 I will prepare for $0.50
If I'm always strategizing around the potential of being wrong, I reduce my losses even if I cut a profit short too, while still enjoying massive swings to accumulate at lows, DCA up, sell at a high, DCA down, etc. I believe in multi-year cycles but it's hard to say with something like TON.

also this though.... watch me come back here in 20 years with TON at an insane price and be like damn shoulda bought 10,000
Meanwhile watch it crash before then too
Nobody is ever always right, so I plan not to be, and that's a really great way to not get fucking wrecked in these 2026 markets.
All TON have done is built a walled garden around Telegram, a niche chat app. Telegram is not the holy grail, it will not lead to meaningful sustained growth. Nobody cares about stars or telegram usernames or any of these rather meaningless Telegram integrations. The entire ecosystem is propped up by Fragment and STON, get rid of those 2 dapps and TON is a literal ghostchain.

If TON shift their focus on DeFi and interoperability, and initiatives that actually make a chain valuable and draw in the big dollars, then sure, $3 is obtainable.
If TON continue to focus on building a currency for Telegram, then it'll remain a mediocre chain, will only appeal to a small subset of Telegram users, and price will suffer.

Bet on something where adoption draws in real money.

I think the TON team has done a good job of advancing multiple smart contract ecosystems with devs and making it easy from the start to use TON on browsers, software, apps, AND on Telegram too.

I do agree that if they go too hard into TG and only focus on that, then it is harder to have widespread appeal. They should be thinking more about how they can be the currency of friendships, groups, and all chats, not just Telegram. Great launching pad but it should not be their only home. To a certain degree though they do benefit from it a lot too but I understand how it's an eggs in one basket scenario.

I think it's awesome that a major chat app has a crpytocurrency that supports it, I just see too many people make it sound like Telegram alone is the silver bullet that will make TON successful. Telegram is large, but not large enough on its own to make any network remotely successful. That, coupled with that fact that it's very likely in the single digit percentages of Telegram users that actually utilize TON, just doesn't make me very bullish on their TG integrations as far as price action goes.

If they spread their efforts out, take DeFi seriously (they brought USDe over but it's underutilized currently), build out some killer apps that aren't just telegram integrations, then they have a shot. They should also loosen up restrictions around Americans, 2026's web3 landscape is much less regulated than the landscape Biden had us in, they can let their guards down a little bit.

I’m surprised WhatsApp hasn’t made their own crypto and destroyed TON. It dominates against Telegram. Even WeChat too, but I can’t say that because Tencent is super closed with the whole world vs China. WhatsApp has a huge advantage of actually p2p transactions IRL just because so many deals take place. Telegram is more so an anonymous platform. I’ve never met anyone who says they use telegram. It’s always WhatsApp.

Wanna buy a car? WhatsApp me. Tv? Drugs? Prostitutes? It’s all on there. But Zuck is a Cuck.

True.... I am using whatsapp to communicate with family who are overseas right now. It's definitely very very very popular across many age groups. Pretty sure this same family would have no clue what WeChat or Telegram are, like at all.

WeChat is Chinese exclusive anyways. You’d need an invite from someone from China to even use that platform.

WeChat has integrated payments in their app. You can scan a barcode and pay via the app when in China, or in a couple of stores and markets around the world that uses the barcode. Or pay friends. It’s not necessary blockchain technology. But they pretty much are like the VISA version of credit card processing (there’s no credit cards in China. Just payment apps like WeChat, Alipay etc).

They’re so well advanced in technology, none of their citizens use cash at all. It’s actually embarrassing to see a Chinese use yuan. Tourists are also allowed to use these but with a fee attached because of the conversion with credit card to Yuan.

I bet you're on to something here and we see exactly this in the upcoming few years.

Meta is stepping back into the landscape, they're only eyeing stablecoin infra right now, but I can see a stablecoin play integrating very firmly into WhatsApp. They're looking for a partner in the space, it'll probably be Bridge (Stripe), to help with US compliance. I imagine we see stablecoin integrations across Meta's entire stack, but it can play a very prominent role in WhatsApp. Very quick, easy, and most importantly for Meta, compliant, peer to peer monetary transactions.

I’m sure businesses would take advantage of lower processing fees if it’s a simple design for consumers to just scan and pay. I’m not sure if that will be popular though. Venmo and Cashapp I’ve seen a few times, but the fees are still kind of the same just like with credit cards
