They better offer these boys some security breach job.
This bring back memories of how I made lot of bank 10 years ago from similar stuff on the same platform.
Wild, that's quite the haul. It would be even better if they exposed all of the grown, predatory adults on that game. Who has time to dig through 610,000 accounts though right? Ha

All they can prob do is trick little kids with tools they got prebuilt online, doubt they'd be any use at all
That's a pretty absurd amount of accounts haha
At that scale you'd definitely need some automation for exfil'ing in-game items and currency from the accounts.
I'm also amazed that they had such success in getting so many people to run a stealer.
Before I'd read through the article I'd assumed that they were just cracking accounts.
On a side note, 15 years is kinda steep. I hope for their sake that it gets plead down, perhaps to maybe 5 years(?)

There are some really expensive items on Roblox, so maybe the value of this hack in monetary value is in the 7-8 figs.
No wonder.. It's not about system security only, it's about its user base.
Imagine that 6-7-8-9-10year-olds are creating new accounts every day with dummy names and dummy passwords.
If I open roblox now and try a few combinations I'll probably get a few opened hahaha.
That's an impressive scale for what seems like a phishing operation rather than an actual system breach. The real challenge would be processing and monetizing 610,000 accounts without tripping detection systems. I wonder if they used specialized tools or had some kind of automated pipeline to handle the volume. Either way, it's a reminder that user education is just as important as system security when dealing with platforms popular with younger audiences.
