So I got a new tattoo on Saturday, I love it, it's in memory of my grandpa that passed away couple weeks ago, good fitting as I'm Scottish and his favourite flower.
That pic was taken on the day, so it's still healing/sore atm.

Crazy the impact they have on your life, I miss mine too bud.
That's a great honor to him.
My first tattoo was my stillborn son's foot prints along with his name and birthday. I got it on my left ribs. It left me very distraught and full of anger for so long, but getting the tattoo brought me a sort of closure in a way. I chose the ribs because for a painful experience of losing a child fit the most painful place to get a tattoo.
I'm gonna be honest though a rib tattoo wasn't that bad in my opinion and felt mainly like a cat scratch the pressure hurt a tad more at times, but was very tolerable if anyone is wondering.
I'm trying to decide between a melanistic deer or a turkey for a tattoo in honor of my grandfather. He was a huge part of my life and taught me so much in so many different things.
My grandfather loved to hunt turkey that was his thing through and through. He made his own calls and he was a genius at turkey hunting he even attached a call to his shotgun with a string he could pull without moving to call them in without spooking them.
My most unique memory with my grandfather was when we were driving where we hunted and a melanistic deer ran in front of us stopped looked at me for a second and ran into the woods. It had a huge rack of antlers and my grandfather was speechless. This was when I was a kid there was no internet, no AI, etc. just books it took me forever to find a book explaining what I had seen. I learned that they are incredibly rare and that was a one of a kind day for both me and my grandfather.

I got my first ever tattoo the day I turned 18 on my ribs, was for my gran, I like meaningful tattoos, more than silly shit.
I reckon you go for a Stag/Deer if it's a great fond memory why not, I'm adding to mine "Glasgow Rangers" gates as we are both obsessed with that FOOTBALL club.
