Pentagon says the firing squad execution of Nidal Malik Hasan will be livestreamed

https://apnews.com/article/fort-hood-sho...b781a8d559

Thoughts? They always have been public executions I suppose? In the past I guess there was nothing stopping you from traveling to see someone get executed? But something about this feels weird and more like some show of authority or power more than actual justice to me personally.

EDIT - I'm a retard. Executions have always been private lmfao. I guess I just had the phrase 'public execution' in my mind and assumed that's how it worked but that's more like cartel shit I guess.. In fact the AI is really disagreeing with my gut feeling lol!

Rare Exceptions: True public executions are extremely rare globally, mostly practiced by a small number of authoritarian governments (such as North Korea or Iran). However, unique high-profile cases can spark unusual debates—such as the planned military firing squad execution of Nidal Malik Hasan, which the Pentagon announced would be livestreamed

This is awesome. Time for a watch party!
Honestly, I would say this is going to be the BEST livestream I've ever tuned into.. well until they censor the hell out of it.

Also, does anyone know what it will be streamed to?

now that I think about it, probably just "Live TV" 💀

The worst serial killers don't have their executions put on the Internet for anyone to watch. Osama bin Laden was executed very unceremoniously.
I just heard about this on the news this morning.

I wonder if they'll ever release that photo. I find it strange we'll be willing to livestream an execution but we've still not seen proof Osama is dead in photographic form even or whatever in 2026. I personally do believe they killed him to be clear, he was just a rich terrorist hiding in Pakistan its not too crazy but I mean if we're going to livestream an execution why not just validate that especially given its fucking Osama bin Laden who had way more of a net negative on the the entire world than this man did.

I have this faint memory of Hussein being hung but I'm not sure if it was a video or a still image or what or if I'm just completely misremembering things. Either way it doesn't seem like public executions are a big thing lmfao let alone to livestream it but welcome to 2026 I guess maybe there was a polymarket for it?

As much as I couldn't stand the alternative, Donald Trump does some crazy, even unthinkable things.
I do not think this is a smart idea, I believe this will result the possibility of Islamic terrorists performing more attacks and possibly recording or live streaming executions similar to how that scumbag Jihadi John did.

Lets be real here, the only reason why this administration and Hegseth is pushing for it to be public and livestreamed is because it is an Islamic terrorist, Hegseth literally has a tattoo of the word Kaffir on him. If this was a Christian, Jew, Atheist, etc it would not be even brought up. Now if it was a Democrat I could see them pushing for that to be public as well.

I say execute the Islamic terrorist by firing squad but don't stream it.
