What do you guys think of the last few years of COD?

I personally think they are not putting much effort into their games anymore.

Last year was the first year since I was a kid that I finally didn't even purchase the game. I don't currently plan to purchase the new one about to come out either. They just don't hit the same for me anymore, I'm not a fan of a lot of what they choose to do with the games, and even in the final couple of years that I did buy the new games, I would play for 1-2 months tops and then that was it. The exception was if ranked play came out later on and then I'd grind that for a season and be done with the game still.

I'll admit that I had a bit of FOMO for maybe up to a week of the game being released last year, but it was entirely due to some usual gaming buddies of mine all playing it. I was pretty confident though that it was going to be short lived and so just enjoyed watching them play and have the fun (as well as sometimes the polar opposite of fun lol) that they did. Sure enough around that week mark, all but 1 of them stopped playing entirely and then not too long after that, he stopped playing too. Needless to say, I was glad I didn't bother picking it up. It didn't stand out to me in the first place and I would have either ended up playing alone mainly or calling it quits early like they did, making it a waste to have purchased at all.

Sucks what it's become, I had been a devouted CoD Player since 2009. I was #2 overall global score in the original MW2 on Xbox 360 before Jtags became a thing and the hacking started.

I considered grabbing one or both of the ports, but I knew it was only going to be so much like it was back in the day and that it would only scratch that itch so much. If I had a couple of my usual gaming buddies, hell maybe even just 1 that would have picked it up too though, I probably would have caved.

I have really backed off of Call of Duty since Modern Warfare 2 remake. However I did play the beta for Modern Warfare 4 and completely intend to purchase it next week.

I don't even remember the last COD I played but by the vids I've seen of todays COD, nothing will beat the original Modern Warfare series, 1,2,3.
