We are officially in Bytes Bonus Days. HF is turning 19 years old on April 21st.
Base levels for Bytes have increased for thread creation 10->25 Bytes. For post replies (40 character minimum required) it's increased from 1->5 Bytes.
Those in usergroups with multipliers get that on top of it.
Example is L33t is 1.5x and Ub3r is 2x. So an Ub3r creating a thread will get 50 Bytes. Then those who are in the custom groups Academy or Hackers have higher multipliers.
Welcome back to the Hack Forum News. Where we keep you up to date on the weekly events and news happening on site and around the world. If you have never heard of the Hack Forum News, don't worry, we have you covered. We are a team of members from the Hack Forums community who are journalists and writers, and we are here to keep you in the loop of the changes around the site and the events happening around the world.
Guests views. We have recently seen this in the news already, but the change has now been reverted to no longer allowing them to view threads. This change has happened due to the number of bots crawling threads. We at the HF News have noticed a very large number of threads getting 100's of guests views which raised questions around the change, but this has been reverted now due to many reasons mentioned within the thread.
Over the last few weeks, we have seen a new feature added to the website around the new encrypted images being used, and this thread has been the testing ground for the new feature. From everyone testing the images on site, the feature seems to have been implemented well and everyone seems to be enjoying the new feature. If you are wanting to check it out or have not tried it yet, be sure to go and see what all the hype is about on the thread.
A change people have talked about for a while now is the current profile design. We have currently got two profiles on the site. One for the general account and one for the market side of the website. [mention=1] has stated they are looking to make a change to this by bringing them together in some way to allow these to all be on one screen instead of having two separate profiles, which can cause confusion between members on the site. Many members have pitched in a few different ways to make this happen. Go and see if you like any of the current ideas or maybe even share your own.
A new thread making the Member Contests Rules much clearer has been published this week, which has made the pinned threads a far less of a mess and made everything a lot more clear for members who are looking to host or enter the new contests that have been popping up as of recently. With this new thread, it has summed up around three threads into one, and kept things short and simple to allow members who don't want to read too much but to understand the rules for the contests. If you have not seen the official post yet, be sure to check this one out.

Big goals often feel overwhelming, which is why many people struggle to stay consistent. The truth is, success is rarely about one big action—it’s about small habits repeated daily. Every time you choose discipline over comfort, you are shaping your future self. Whether it’s studying for 20 minutes, exercising briefly, or limiting distractions, these small actions build momentum. Over time, consistency turns into progress, and progress turns into results. Advice of the week
Don’t focus on doing everything at once. Focus on doing something every day. Quote of the week

A giveaway has turned up from the legend himself [mention=7] last week. The giveaway is a little different to most. The giveaway is to whoever can crack the seed. Now what does this mean? We hear you ask. Well, this is like a puzzle giveaway where you will get 12 mnemonic words needed to access the wallet. The one who can complete them all wins the $200 SOL. If you think you have the skills for this, go and check out the thread for more details about how to obtain the first hints.
Five winners will be able to get $100 in BTC on the 14th of April next week. [mention=5744880] is hosting one of the bigger contests this year and one of the first to get rewarded with the Shining Knight award because of it. The requirements for the contest are that you just need to be at least L33t on the site and have 10 posts or more. This means everyone who is anyway can pretty much enter this easy giveaway and get rewarded with some easy bitcoin next week.
I have altered HF so that guests can no longer view the forums. I'm going all out to stop bot crawling activity. I'm adding more triggers to catch them and in the meantime I'm taking all the measures possible.
I will monitor the stats closely to see how this effects the community and will make adjustments accordingly.

Welcome everyone to the Easter Special for 2026.
We publish a small number of special editions each year and last year we missed out on Easter, so this year we wanted to bring a little bit of Easter joy to everyone, with Edition 42 being a special one. We hope everyone has had a great Easter. We know this will be published a day after Easter Sunday, but the joy and spirit is still in the air.
We saw a shocking thread about ten lucky people getting a chance to meet up in Vegas this week for an event called the "HF Conference 2026", which was sponsored by the member [mention=7] the event was sadly a good old April fools' joke as it was the 1st of April and, as always, the site always has one each year. This year we saw a lot of people packing their bags ready to go and to drop everything on the spot. Many members were a little upset by this, but it was one of the great April fools' jokes we have had in a few years now.

Your Phone Might Be Rewiring Your Brain
Most young people check their phones dozens—sometimes hundreds—of times a day. This constant stimulation trains the brain to seek quick rewards, reducing attention span and making it harder to focus on long tasks. Over time, excessive screen use can impact sleep quality, increase anxiety, and lower productivity. Experts suggest setting screen limits, taking regular breaks, and avoiding phone use before bedtime. Controlling your screen time means taking back control of your mind.
Advice of the week
If something is distracting you from your goals, limit its access—not your ambition. Create an environment where focus is easier than distraction.

This week's submission is thanks to this being the Easter Edition.
