Welcome back to the Hack Forum News. Where we keep you up to date on the weekly events and news happening on site and around the world. If you have never heard of the Hack Forum News, don't worry, we have you covered. We are a team of members from the Hack Forums community who are journalists and writers, and we are here to keep you in the loop of the changes around the site and the events happening around the world.
This week we have hit our 40th edition. We have come so far in just over 9 months. We would be officially born in this world if the HF News was a human baby at this point and we can't thank every one of you members who have supported us to this point. We are here to help the community grow, learn, engage, and develop. You are all so awesome, and we thank you all for following the team and supporting us with the work we put in each week. Thank you, yes you.
A brand new feature has been released this week regarding adding images to your posts/threads. The feature allows users to add images to the site easily and to be encrypted. The site it's hosted on is owned by [mention=1] and they have mentioned this is all currently a beta, but more will come from this now that it's working as intended. The feature is thanks to a member of the site known as [mention=5052823] as they were creating a project for image encrypting and from this the feature was worked out with them both working together to bring the site the feature we mentioned.
With the recent change regarding giveaways, [mention=123] has created a thread for the hosts to let the winner be picked at random from one of the current staff members of the site. With this thread, we feel it's a great addition to the changes happening to help combat the scam giveaways we have seen popping up around the site and another great way to stop them happening moving forward. If you are hosting a giveaway and need someone to pick a winner, this thread is something you all should be using moving forward.

The Risk of Sitting Too Long
Many young people spend hours sitting—whether working, gaming, or scrolling on their phones. Prolonged sitting can slow metabolism, weaken muscles, and increase the risk of obesity and heart-related issues. It can also lead to back and neck pain over time. Health experts recommend standing up, stretching, or walking for a few minutes every hour to keep the body active. Movement, even in small amounts, plays a key role in maintaining long-term health.
[size=15]Advice of the week
Don’t overthink every decision. Taking action, even if imperfect, is better than staying stuck. You can always adjust your path, but you can’t improve something you never started.
Quote of the week

[mention=5418830] is at it again with another 100,000 bytes giveaway this month. The giveaway ends on the 1st of April 2026 this time around and is the same as the last giveaway. All you need to do is give the post a quick love, give [mention=5418830] max pop you are able to give, and reply to the thread. It is very simple for such a large number of bytes to have the chance to grab.
Litecoin is up for grabs with [mention=516470] newest giveaway. This giveaway has recently started and is being represented by the group "The Brotherhood" The giveaway is very easy to enter and all you need to do is make a post in the replies in the thread, give some rep, and have been a site member for at least six months. We wish everyone the best of luck with the giveaway.
A little bigger giveaway has turned up from the legend himself [mention=7] this week. The giveaway is a little different to most. The giveaway is to whoever can crack the seed. Now what does this mean? We hear you ask. Well, this is like a puzzle giveaway where you will get 12 mnemonic words needed to access the wallet. The one who can complete them all wins the $200 SOL. If you think you have the skills for this, go and check out the thread for more details about how to obtain the first hints.

A new rule has been put in place for contests. Due to an increase within the member contests section of fake giveaways, everyone who is hosting a giveaway for any monetary amount will now need to send the amount [mention=1] to hold until the end of the giveaway. This rule has been put in place to make sure that the giveaway is legit and should help the fake giveaways seen over the last few months. We have seen quite a few hosting the news each week and are glad to see this put in place to help combat the issue we were seeing far too much of. Let us know what you think about this new rule in the replies this week.
As a lot of you know by now, the wiki was taken over by the team behind the HF News. We are happy to announce more work has been completed on bringing the wiki up to date, and we have been actively updating it over the last few months. The site is at a stage where we are happy to say it's pretty much complete or near to it as this thread may age. We will be updating the community on the changes made and updates that have gone on within the mentioned thread, and we hope to see you all on the wiki to find out whatever you are interested in soon.

The Silent Impact of Dehydration
Many young adults don’t realize how mild dehydration can affect the body. Even a small drop in hydration levels can lead to fatigue, headaches, poor concentration, and reduced physical performance. Drinking enough water also supports digestion, circulation, and temperature regulation. Health experts suggest drinking water regularly throughout the day, especially during work, exercise, or hot weather. Staying hydrated is one of the simplest ways to maintain energy and overall health.
Advice of the week
Stop waiting for motivation. Discipline and routine are far more reliable. Create small daily habits and stick to them, even on days you don't feel like it. Over time, those small actions build powerful results.

We have got an update on the change that was made a few months ago where [mention=1] removed access for everyone to be able to see the posts made in the SSRP section. This week [mention=1] has mentioned that they are very glad that they removed the section with the current events going on in the world right now. They feel this would have flooded the section and made things just worse for the site. They have officially junked around 36,000 threads and around 900,000 posts sadly. This has sadly affected some members post counts and thread counts, but was it the right thing to do?

The Hack Forums Wiki has returned. The site has been under some work recently as the site was sadly left with a load of issues and no one was running the official site. Thanks to everyone within the HF news team, the site is now under new leadership and, thanks to [mention=1] allowing the team to start their work on this while maintaining the HF news, the site is back getting some lovely changes and getting updated daily to bring it back to a new modern day Wikipedia with a load of information for everyone to read up on.

A light thread with a strangely universal hook. [mention=2207123] asks about those completely legal little moments that still trigger a weird sense of guilt - like walking out of a store empty-handed, using a bathroom without buying anything, or refusing to hand over personal details for some "promotion." The replies are casual, funny, and instantly relatable. One of those simple Lounge threads that works because everybody immediately has an answer of their own.
A genuinely uncomfortable discussion about where AI advice can go off the rails. [mention=630163] shares an example of Perplexity surfacing drug-related suggestions in response to an anxiety and long-COVID-adjacent conversation, which quickly turns the thread into a wider discussion about memory, context bleed, academic-style outputs, and how badly recommendation systems can misread a vulnerable user. A strong reminder that "technically relevant" is not the same as responsible.
A familiar modern habit turned into a solid discussion thread. What starts as a simple question about checking your phone first thing in the morning opens into replies about work, doomscrolling, emails, self-control, and the weird dependency many people have developed on that first screen of the day. It is a small topic on the surface, but the responses quietly say a lot about how people live now.
A thread that feels more real than performative. [mention=2207123] asks for advice about his 13-year-old daughter spending too much time on her phone, and the replies move beyond the usual "just take it away" line into hobbies, sports, gradual limits, device swaps, and understanding what the phone is actually being used for. There is humor in the Nokia suggestions, but also some genuinely thoughtful parenting advice underneath it all. A good example of HF dropping the memes for a minute and actually trying to help.
A clean little coding share with immediate practical value. [mention=503372] presents a Python-based passphrase generator that aims to balance strong entropy with actual usability, producing passwords that are far easier to read and type than the usual random-character soup. The write-up is structured well, explains the logic clearly, and makes the tool feel accessible even to people who are not deep into security scripting. A neat reminder that good security tools do not have to sacrifice human usability to stay useful.

Hidden Sleep Debt in Your 30s
Many men in their 30s believe they function well on 5–6 hours of sleep, but chronic sleep debt quietly affects the body. Lack of sleep can increase stress hormones, weaken the immune system, and raise the risk of weight gain and heart disease. Over time, poor sleep can also impact memory, focus, and mood. Experts recommend 7–9 hours of consistent sleep per night, limiting caffeine late in the day, and keeping a regular sleep schedule. Prioritizing sleep in your 30s can protect both mental and physical health for decades.
Advice of the week
Protect your time.
Your time is your most valuable resource. Learn to say no to things that waste your energy or distract you from your goals. Focus on what truly matters — your health, your growth, and the people who add value to your life.

Looking at what's going on in Social Media with the war, Israel, Epstein....I'm actually very happy I took away SRPP. HF should be a place away from that.
I JUNKED the section, so currently all the posts and threads still exist. Just in case I changed my mind. But I've decided to actually delete it. It's about 900k posts and 36k threads. After it's fully deleted I will do a member post count reset. So some of you, including me, will have a drop in stats, which telling you this is the purpose of the thread.
