Rule

Monetary Contests Rule

Any Contest that offers a monetary benefit must be in crypto only and must be escrowed by me personally.

This rule is because we're having scammers do fake contests to gain Popularity for scamming.

Thank you.

EDIT: Because I'm accepting the payment in Escrow before the contest ends, this means price fluctuation might change the USD value. So I will add the exact amount of the crypto I'm holding and minus TXN fee that's what the winner will get. I do send with low TXN fees so no worries on that.

EDIT 2: Sorry if this wasn't clear. But I'll expect to get the crypto for escrow within 24 hours of any new contest thread. Members can even contact me before even making the thread if they wish.
Thank you. I am sure I am not the only one getting sick of these fake giveaways.

It was about time. There were just too many fake giveaways.

Yeah, I can't really escrow non-crypto. Sorry.

Nah it's all good, I totally understand. I'm sure a few people will be happy to help.
Scammer +Rep? Well, we just need to check. If the contest expires and we don’t see a winner, we can just give the host a -Rep. Right?”

Annoying AF that it has come to this, but its definitely warranted IMO. No issue with it.
***I ONLY deal on HF. I will not add you on Discord or any other app. Beware of scammers!***
I love this rule so much, ngl. This is great. I strongly dislike what other users have done with contests in the past, and even the good ones result in hundreds of pop going to a user who gave away $10 so the harder it is to do it, the better.

Would love to see a minimum value or a new rule that bans asking for Pop

Just an idea but then instead of having contests say Win $X in BTC maybe posts should state:
'BTC contest - 0.005484 BTC' For example ?

Why would I deprive the community of contests? It's more vital I ensure the contests aren't fake.

Maybe. I have to think on it.
I love this decision. Finally! I suggested this a few ties before in the past but the conclusion was that ''giveaway scammers'' are not that common. Great job.
Omniscient love that this is possible
