Good tutorial, new users shouldn't have a problem installing Backtrack onto VM with a tutorial like this.

Here's a problem I can't find discussed on the forum ( had to remove 'quiet' from the command line to even see it - otherwise I was just stuck on the logo screen ). I have a HP 2000 notebook ( AMD x64 1.3GHz ) and I get a message - "...only found i686.." Couldn't find x86 or x64...? 😧 Any help would be appreciated.

I gotta sit at SubWay 2hrs to d/l on WiFi ( it should be ~2.92GB? ). Never heard of the install misidentifying the CPU? I found that quite odd...for any platform/software combination. Okay, the only thing I've found is that I need to select "Ubuntu 64bit" ( or similar ) and the list in VBox doesn't include any x64 options. Maybe there's another version of VBox I need? I have v 4.3.12 r93012. |
