Never heard of the install misidentifying the CPU? I found that quite odd...for any platform/software combination.

Okay, the only thing I've found is that I need to select "Ubuntu 64bit" ( or similar ) and the list in VBox doesn't include any x64 options. Maybe there's another version of VBox I need? I have v 4.3.12 r93012.

If you click the link I have provided for Backtrack the site gives you a link to the Kali site, which as I type this is working fine.
