I was reading here

And I have seen this 0x68 user with tonnes of scam reports that all have solid evidence. I know staff don't take action, but what, is this like some kind of scamming niche that people do? They scam then ban themselves so they don't have to take the heat and come back with nothing on their shoulders?
I think the self-vacation ban thing needs to be changed or removed, it does more bad than good, people should also learn some self control and if it really has to be done, they can just ask a staff to ban them.
I just don't think it's right, that guy and others I have seen need to be perm banned for being cowards and obviously scamming.
Edit: Pretty much what I am saying, is that the self-ban feature is basically a built-in scamming tool.

Well I have seen staff say they do, so Idk what you're on about.
(Oct 23, 2014 08:30 AM)clark.dll Wrote: No, they do not. Omni himself has said countless times that staff do not get involved with scam reports. I don't know why people scam and then ban themselves.. it's not like we'll forget what they did.
Anyway, Deal at your own risk.
Okay, well they don't get involved, but they take action when deemed worthy.
I was pointing out this 0x68 guy as an example. Do staff just assume he's punished himself?

What are you talking about? Of course they are free to assume whatever they want.. You're not really answering my questions and being insanely blunt.
For the cases where let's say Omniscient looks over a scammer who has obviously scammed and vacation banned himself, and let's say if he didn't, he closed him and removed his rep. I am just trying to understand why is this vacation ban thing even allowed, it's literally a built-in scamming tool.

I could scam right now, and still take a vacation ban, I'd just have to ask first.. it's not like staff would know, or even care. It's not a built in scamming tool at all, it has nothing to do with scamming.
You're not willing to look at it through different angles, can't really be bothered to force it in to a close minded person. No hate, but you're just being blunt and it's kind of childish.
No, of course it's primary perk isn't for scamming, just like BTC isn't just for scamming either. I am just saying, it's an easy way out when staff could take action, and it could change the entire fate of a situation if let's say instead of scamming and self-banning, they had to request a ban, a staff hovers over there account for like 5 seconds and spots scam reports or what-not, bam perm-banned.
Here is someones post on another thread in the lounge, pretty much what I am trying to say is that scammers shouldn't be able to do this stuff as easy as 1,2,3.

Normal members (majority who are scammed) don't know all this shit. It's a username, people can change it whenever they want.
I just found out this it was only recently implemented. I am pretty confident I could say there are more scamming incidents with people banning themselves now than it was back then. I just personally believe it assists scammers and lets them have an easier ride out and back in.
What you're saying is not really correct. Scammers are punished vacation ban or not. For example: Eeluminati took a vacation ban, however despite this, Omniscient took action and extended his ban along with a repfuck. I would advise reading the following, taken from another (recent) thread regarding scammers.
Omniscient Wrote:This shit really angers me especially since I been up since 8am and pretty much just spent investigation and closing about 10 accounts related to scammers.
What I'm NOT going to do is get involved in deals or deal disputes.
Just because you're fucking little bitch that gets butthurt over a deal dispute doesn't make me fucking responsible for your risky actions in deals.
AT YOUR OWN FUCKING RISK means just that.
These thread really piss me off. Clueless fucking members.

Yes it can be abused as a group of people can make the reports, but so can many other things. It is just unlikely to be abused because that would waste a lot of people's time. Negative rep can be abused so a user cannot post in the marketplace but -rep still exists.
See, something like this. Something possibly like an alert is posted on a page if a scammed has banned themselves with recent reports being posted. Maybe I am just thinking this over, but I am heading off for now. I wouldn't be surprised if a staff member just completely blanks me out with some nice points, just people at the moment aren't seeing the two sides to the picture.

Well did this Illuminati person have more scam reports than 0x68? Was the evidence as strong? I'd appreciate if someone closed this thread, it's none of my business and majority of you are probably right.
Yeah I am over thinking this. Someone please close this. I'll say I am wrong.
Is this some new ban and scam money making method? I have to get this ebook.
OT: Staff should at least review every self ban just like omni monitors ub3rs.
But then again, Staff does not get involved with disputes.
Our staff on occasion will ban a scammer, if the evidence is on site and apparent.
