I really don't know why they don't shave...They shave everywhere perfectly more than the girls from other countries but, not there. not that area. Generally its not attractive thing to have it. Its more like if you shave them all, its embarrassing. Cultural difference I guess. I personally want to complain about that too. Great question. Today's yakuza is not as violent as you think except for a few groups in countryside. Moreover they forcus on earning MONEY. So today they do exist and do legal and illegal jobs but not something you have to see blood. Its very very rare to see yakuza's war or something like that on TV. And motorcycle gangs pretty much died today. It used to be cool and attractive to be one of those, but now everybody sees it as idiotic and uncool. So you cannot see them unless you go to super countryside. (Jun 5, 2013 03:50 AM)semi_blind Wrote: How hard is it to learn the Basic kanji for the locals? We start to learn Kanji from elementary school but even adults still fuck up sometimes haha. So I can say its as hard as your language. But kanji which is difficult level that nobody use today, I cannot even read unless I study harder. (Jun 5, 2013 04:04 AM)Origami~ Wrote: How are actually the youngsters in Japan? Are they idiot like some of the western people? (I'm only 16 but those in my generation are so fucked up.) Well, generally how are they? Following the fashion , buying the last iphone, fucking at 13yo etc etc. They smoke cigarette, drink alcohols, date girls, bully and shit happen, talk about trends and girls wear nasty thick make-up and dress like prostitute even though she is 13. In my opinion, the biggest difference is generally they never do drugs no matter how much they are fucked up. (even marijuana) but drugs are not really something teenagers can touch in Japan. I'm japanese too and i used to live in yokohama but i can't exactly remember where in it though. Yokohama is in Kanagawa(神奈川). I currently live in other country but I was born and grew up in Tokyo :) (Jun 5, 2013 02:48 PM)Tabe Wrote: Whats with the Japanese thinking Americans love hot dogs haha? I get the other stereotypes, but again, i was talking with my friend from Japan and he was telling me what japanese think of americans. I didn't know we loved hot dogs that much hahah :P Thats funny. lol I guess its more like the only American food we know is burgers and hotdogs. Seriously that's all we can think of lol (Jun 5, 2013 03:02 PM)Αlpha Wrote: I heard there is almost no vandalism in Japan. Is that true? Yes, nobody really breaks things without reasons. that is probably why they can set vending machine everywhere :) (Jun 5, 2013 04:48 PM)barrier Wrote: Do girls really get raped on trains? Its not rape but creepy guys do touch you in packed train. its called 痴漢(chikan) This is because Japanese girls are "shy" so they cant say anything while being touched. (not everybody) I think it was last week, this guy got arrested by touching a girl in the train. The reason why he did that was because he found a girl online who wanted to be touched by him. and she promised the time and place. but in reality, that unfortunate girl was the one who came exact time and stood exact place as "she" said. I guess its very Japanese E-whoring. I hope my english is ok enough for you guys to understand. let me know if somebody dont understand me. This question might be odd, but do you know Nano? (ナノ)
Spoiler (Click to View) In all the trailers etc, we always see her hiding her face under a hood. Go to a concert and take a picture for me, so I can finally see her face? Lmao. But yeah, this is a really cool thread. If you're interested, we can share some things about our respective languages via PM. High temperature, high humidity, it rains often in summer and moreover too many people in Tokyo so it makes it worse even. I have seen young girls freak out about fat stinky old man who sweats too much in packed train more than a couple times. I have been to Arizona personally, I don't know about temperature and stuff there but I think you would feel more terrible in Tokyo. She seems like she came from niconico douga.(ニコニコ動画) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nico_Nico_Douga This website is so popular in Japan. Its like youtube Japanese geeky ver. People record their music or whatever they want and share. You can use the website in English too. http://www.nicovideo.jp/ I think some people here already know about it because of Miku Hatsune or Vocaloid.

Yeah, she originated on nn doing Vocaloid covers in English and eventually made a few songs for some anime (Btooom! op, Kami no Puzzle s2) also, niconico is quite popular outside of Japan as well, lol. As someone else has asked, what is the easiest way to learn Japanese? How do you suggest I begin learning it? (Jun 7, 2013 01:50 PM)EliteNoob Wrote: How is the street racing in Japan? Do many people drive Nissan Skylines and race on the highways? How is it? People do drive Nissan skyline but not too many and not for race lol I guess that type of thing maybe going on in way countryside possibly. But mostly, nobody does that because its completely illegal. I often get the question you asked, where is it coming from? Initial D?

Hard question. I cannot suggest anything since I naturally know my language. But from my experience of learning English(still learning), I have to say you need to speak, read and listen as much as you can. and it must be everyday in my opinion. I wanted to understand family guy originally, so watched it with subtitles and looked up the meaning of what peter was saying.(still very hard). but it was not painful or hard to keep up because it was fun and interesting. I know some people who have foreign boyfriends and girlfriends. They are massive fast learners and I asked how and they said they speak everyday and want to know each other so its not painful to learn more and more:) I was like shut up and its annoyingly sweet but I guess its true. So I guess the best and easiest is getting girlfriends. If no luck, try to like something else that makes you keep interested in the language. Sorry maybe Im not really answering your question.
