How to remove Write Protection ?

I have a SanDisk Cruzer USB thumb drive and it will not let me delete files, format the disk, or do anything without an error message about being " write protected ". I've tried numerous ways to format this drive, with no success.

Any suggestions?
Have you tried these instructions: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/storag...ash-drive/

Is it your flash drive or someone's else flash drive ? If it's someone's else, you can give it back the flash drive and ask him to remove the write protection from his computer. Or, you could format it using a tool like Low Level Format Tool : http://hddguru.com/software/HDD-LLF-Low-...rmat-Tool/

I am getting this error when i try to format with Low Level Format software :/

Even the Low Level Format tool says the Disk is write Protected : /

What to do ??
As another user suggested, sometimes these memory cards have a switch you can toggle to enable/disable write access. Did you check for that?

Yeah , I tried this

I need to go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies

The Problem with this is that "StorageDevicePolicies" section is not present in my computer :/

Also I have been infected with a virus named recycler which wont go no matter what i do.
Have you tried wiping it using a linux box?

If you have been infected with a virus, you should go get checked by a MRT member before doing anything else. Go post a thread in the MRT section with all the required informations (logs), that can be found here :
