Synopsis
The story revolves around Mina Tepeş, princess-ruler of all vampires, and her protector -- Akira. Like other vampires, Mina has been in hiding with her people for many years. Seeking to end centuries of isolation, Mina gains permission to create a special district for vampires, "The Bund,"[4] off the coast of Japan by paying off the entire national debt of the Japanese government. Mina then reveals to the world the existence of vampires and her desire for both races to live together. Tensions, however, run high as fearful humans and extremist vampire factions are plotting to assassinate Mina Tepes before she has a chance to make her world-changing announcement.

A human that is part of the Student Council. She has a crush on Akira, becoming depressed at the fact that his attention is focused more on Mina. She was at first afraid of vampires, but later befriends Mina, especially since for a time she was the only member of the Student Council attending school and also due to the fact that the Student Council Office was still damaged by the attack, leaving Yuki to work in Mina's office. She is also a writer, but is embarrassed at the idea of anyone reading her stories, yet Mina and her maids become a big fan of them.
Akira Kaburagi Regendorf

Growing up in the world of humans, Akira met Mina as a child and became strongly attached to her, making her a promise to always protect her. This became a reality later in his life, when it was revealed by his father that Akira's purpose for being born was to protect Mina. Akira cares deeply for Mina, going so far as to protect her at the sacrifice of his own body if need be. Akira is from clan of gaia which is a clan of werewolves, because of this he has incredible resistance to physical harm and amazing regenerative abilities, in addition to fierce raw strength. After vampires are revealed to the world and he is forced into protecting Mina constantly, he comes into conflict with his fellow human students, almost all of whom immediately treat him with distrust and hate for supposedly siding with the vampires.

The ruler of all vampires, (she is the daughter of Vlad Tepes aka Dracula) Mina Tepes first met the protagonist Akira when he was a child. As a vampire, Mina never ages, and as such her body is usually that of a prepubescent girl (although this doesn't stop her from showing off her body at every chance that she gets). She appears at first very haughty and self-indulging, but is in truth very protective of her fellow vampires that she rules over. She will do almost anything to protect their future, even if it means risking her own life. Despite her occasionally harsh treatment of Akira, she cares deeply for him and truly loves him in the best way that she can manage, considering her stature in the vampire world.
My Opinion
Alright, this is this best Vampire anime I have seen. I wasn't a big fan of Rosario + Vampire and Fortune Arterial was good but whatever. This one is the best in my opinion. The only drawback to this show was the first episode. Usually people tell you not to drop a show based on the first episode but I dropped this show like twice because of the first episode. Don't worry, hang in there champ, you wont regret it. The first episode is a back story type episode, to establish a setting but they just went about it poorly I think. One of the better things about this anime, besides the super adorable, super strong, loli main character, was the animation. I thought the animation was on point. It isnt really as beautiful as other shows but the art style is solid, definitely not a drawback. Which is a good thing. Overall though, just know that I am calling this the best Vampire anime I've seen to date. The reason it's not a 10 however is because of the bad first episode and the lack of a season 2. ( For now ) ( Its been 4 years, it's probably not coming ) ( Keep looking forward to Highschool of the Dead ) ( Parenthesis )
