BSOD issues go in the Windows section.
Which error code are you encountering?
Are you able to boot into Safe Mode ? If so, do it and uninstall DeamonTools and the STPD. If not, go in the Recovery PE (press F8 rapidly on boot, select Recovery Mode) and restore to a point before installing DeamonTools.

I sorted the problem by booting into safe mode and going into regedit and deleting the registry entry for STPD also deleted the STPD.sys which was located at C:/windows/system32/drivers/STPD.sys

Weird too as I have Windows 8.1, Update 1 64-bits and I have Deamon Tools installed too and it doesn't cause any issues. Do you have any other virtual imaging/mounting software installed on your computer ?

You can't uninstall Windows Defender, it's part of Windows 8/8.1 ...

Can you disable it via the Action Center ? Or install another Antivirus too. Avast or Avira free will do the job just fine 🙂

Yeah, forgot about that. My bad. 🤦‍♂

Anyhow, you should be able to disable Windows Defender.
Disable it and install Avast! Free Antivirus.

If you want a paid antivirus, tell us. 😝
