OMC

Mined and Blown

You could just do like every single IPN service does. Have a tip button, when you click it, a random Omnicoin address is generated for you only and the address is tied to your account. Coins can then be forwarded as soon as possible to the user.
If the tipping system is in HF, members can purchase goods and service from other members via the tipping system and they can see how many buyers for this product.

Exactly. Logistically it's easy enough. A decent API would be helpful. We wouldn't need a wallet onsite, which I won't ever do. Also I have code for verifying OMC addresses and attaching to accounts already.

Is this almost a confirmation that you would allow this feature in the site? If so i'll maybe start making a first alpha version.

edit: If keeping track of tips isn't a huge factor then why don't we just edit the OMC mybb plugin code to have a tipping section, literally only a few lines of code to change for that.

CoinPayments.net has a pretty good API for things like this. You make an API call, it generates an address you give to the user, and can even forward the funds to the user upon payment completion. It can be implemented very easily and is very slick for the frontend user.

The only downside is the user must pay an exact amount of OMC, instead of just sending however much they wanted. If they underpay or don't send in the time required for confirmations, the OMC goes into limbo.

A good solution to the amount issue is to just set the order to something like 1 OMC and allow them to overpay. The IPN would state the amount they ended up paying which you could count as the tip amount.

Duh. Even better though if a tip site exists with an API. Magic can happen with the right API. Even if I run the API myself on one of my nodes. The only thing I know I won't do is run a wallet.

Good suggestion. Sort of.

Feel free to submit a pull request to the repo and we will review it and merge it if it is good.

But what route are you taking? We have the URI scheme suggestion and the wallet API suggestion to choose between.

If we want tracking making a outside tipping site would be the easiest option. I was thinking below your rep it says "User Tips" or something like that. Some way to allow people to click "tip this user". Not sure if its the most efficient way but I could make it so that it would go to www.hftips.com/pay?recipient=RECIEVINGPARTY&sender=SENDERUID&amount=57

This would then create an invoice at coinpayments.

Literally just writing my thoughts here, if anyone is interested in making this with me or making it themselves pm me.

Shouldn't take long to build that on top of the Omnicha.in API. Of course regularly checking would be a lot of queries but my ABE library would be able to handle it as well. I'll mess around with it.

I'm pretty sure omni wants a central system not owned or operated by anyone else to prevent downtimes and/or hacking attempts.
Here are some suggestions that I think if implemented, will give OMC a boost.

In Omnicoin.org, you stated this: "Cryptocurrency for MyBB communities". Why not try and actually make it a currency for MyBB communities? You can develop a plugin that will allow exchange of OMC within a MyBB forum just like Newpoints. And make it publicly available for any forum owner to use on his site.

Make this sub-forum a main forum to get more attention. You can also do this to the Omnicoin Marketplace. It will grab the attention of sellers, and buyers too!

If every thing you sold (UB3R, L33T, Stickies, Awards, etc.) was purchasable with OMC but with a discounted price, I think people will rather pay less than pay more.

Now Omni, you might say you're going to just add more to your worthless wallet. But NO. You could give back to the community by doing giveaways, more bounties for services, apps, etc.

You can also implement a "Get-Paid-to-Post" into HF. People will get 1 or 0.5 Omnicoins for each post. By doing this, you will increase the activity in the forum as well as the price of OMC, as people will be more interested in it.

I'm very new to Omnicoin, Is it worth getting into it now?

Calypo does have a point, it was supposed to be for other MyBB communities (eventually) as well, wasn't it? If the plug in for tipping was created it would be beneficial to encourage other forums to add it as well. It would then create more of a market for OMC if it was the widely used currency across many MyBB boards.

I'd like to emphasize on the word library. It's trivial to move the system.
Moreover I run his nodes. The risk of hacking would essentially be the same, as I enforce the same security policies on the nodes as I do on Rackle and Sparkle.

EDIT: I'm almost done, this is pretty simple.
EDIT2: The MVP is done, just not sure how to register a UID with an address. I'm not even using my ABE library.
EDIT3: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?ti...id44524642
Don't get mad at me if I'm wrong here, but you said you haven't made anything, but couldn't you exchange the OMC you have to BTC via https://www.allcrypt.com/market ?

Then you could exchange the BTC to IRL cash or your bank acc?
