No, it doesn't make sense at all considering that the discussion on HF makes crypters and crypto have nothing to do with each other, which is what the beginning of my OP is about.

As I said in the OP, there is enough posts in the section that there could be two sections, 1 for each topic, and there would be enough activity that neither section would die. Also, slowly after the split, the crypto section should get more activity as it would no longer appear to be a marketplace section for crypters.

I fully support this. I love math and I'm starting to become more interested in crypto..I take a look at the crypto section on HF from time to time and it's always utter trash. There needs to be something done

I made the suggestion because I thought that it was a good idea and could be backed up by proof.

Not too many crypter threads today, only had to have one junked. A larger than average amount of hash cracking threads though.

This thread needs some more love. The crypto section could be a great section for learning, (it's in the advanced section after all...) but it's not.

Instead it's a cesspool of garbage threads about the newest crypter from some guy trying to make a quick buck off skids

It's not a total cesspool (I just replied to three recent threads and I am currently waiting for the OP to respond) when there is heavy moderation, but when people stop reporting posts / messaging staff about threads, the section can be overrun by crypter threads fast.

And this is now the 60th post on the thread (I'm 1/3 of the posts, wayy better than I thought I would be) and there have been 85 votes for doing something about the crypto section.

Wow, thanks for all the support, I'll be honest, I didn't expect to see so many votes since I usually don't see new faces in the section.
