皆さん、おはよう。
Good morning, everyone.
If this looks familiar it's because it's an edited thread from Kawaii, but some people haven't seen it so I'm sharing it here too.
Feel free to post some of your own resources and discuss your experience with them.
Online Lessons/Tests
Tae Kim's Guide to Japanese - Good for learning lots of useful grammar and Kana.
Japanese Class - For learning vocabulary and kanji.
Jisho - An ENG-JAP and JAP-ENG dictionary. You can search for words, kanji (by pronunciation or by the radicals) and sentences.
A List of Japanese Verbs and Their Conjugations.
Real Kana - Helps you piece together the sounds with the characters through repetition.
Kanji Damage - A different approach to learning Kanji.
Japanese StackExchange - A good place to find answers to questions you may have.
Anki - Flashcards if you learn that way.
Nihonshock - This is a good article from Nihonshock explaining the difference between the 「は」 and 「が」 particles.
WaniKani - Great for learning kanji and vocab. (Thanks zyvox)
Apps (I only have an Android whoops)
Obenkyo - Has a portable version of Tae Kim's guide and various tests.
Learning Japanese - A portable version of the same guide, if you don't want the tests.
Google's Japanese Keyboard.
Jisho on Mobile
Kotoba-chan - Pretty much a better looking version of Obenkyo minus the guide. (Thanks again zyvox)
Books
Genki I (CA | US | GB)
Genki II (CA | US | GB)
Canadian prices make me cry
Yotsuba&! Raw @ JBox - This is actually pretty useful for learning some casual speech patterns. Get this after you've gone through a lot of Tae Kim's grammar guide and you've learned a good amount of vocabulary. You'll probably find yourself looking up some words in a dictionary, but with electronic dictionaries and the included furigana(hiragana next to the kanji) it's not difficult. Even if you don't understand everything, you can probably figure it out from what's going on in the panels.
Others & Resources from people on Kawaii
Pokemon is fun, all the Japanese dialogue is in hiragana and katakana. You can find the ROMs somewhere if you search for them.
Memrise (Online Lessons)
Remembering the Kana & Kanji (Books)
The Japanese Page (Online Lessons)
There's also this pastebin dump of a bunch of resources, I haven't gone through all of them to see how good they are though: http://pastebin.com/RTdXaGFC
がんばります!
Do your best!
I know this isn't about anime but it's close enough
