The End of Omnicoin?
Hack Forums’ own crypto-currency may have run its course after Bittrex, one of the biggest crypto-currency trading platforms, has threatened to delist it following a continuous low valuation on the coin. Should Bittrex follow through, it will no longer be supported by Omniscient, who incurred 5-figure losses over it. As of now, the OMC award has been suspended and sales tags & 3p1c are now purchasable with BTC, LTC, and DOGE. >>Source 1 >>Source 2

Award ToolTip Change
Previously when the cursor was hovered over an award, it would prompt the award’s name. This has now been changed following a suggestion for the Gift award to show the donor’s username, but now supports every award.

Hackers of the Ashley Madison breach posted all stolen data.
Hackers who stole sensitive customer information from the cheating site AshleyMadison.com appear to have made good on their threat to post the data online.
A data dump, 9.7 gigabytes in size, was posted on Tuesday to the dark web using an Onion address accessible only through the Tor browser. The files appear to include account details and log-ins for some 32 million users of the social networking site, touted as the premier site for married individuals seeking partners for affairs. Seven years worth of credit card and other payment transaction details are also part of the dump, going back to 2008. The data, which amounts to millions of payment transactions, includes names, street address, email address and amount paid, but not credit card numbers. >>Source

IRS hackers have affected over 300,000 taxpayers!
The IRS initially claimed hackers had accessed information of 100,000 taxpayer accounts. On Monday, the Internal Revenue Service now says that hackers may have accessed as many as 334,000 taxpayer accounts in total, over three times the initially reported estimate. It was late May when the IRS revealed that 114,000 American taxpayers’ accounts were illegally accessed by cyber criminals during the four months prior to May, with a further 111,000 unsuccessful attempts made to access accounts. Significantly, a new review in a statement released by the IRS on Monday now states that an additional 220,000 attempts were made to access sensitive taxpayer data, marking a total of 334,000 taxpayer accounts that were accessed illegally by malicious hackers, reports Reuters. >>Source

Two Zero-Day vulnerabilities discovered in Apple’s OS X.
Two zero-day vulnerabilities have been uncovered by an Italian teenager in Apple’s OS X operating system, potentially granting an attacker to gain remote access to an Apple computer. An 18-year old Italian teenager (his Twitter profile here) has uncovered two significant bugs in Apple’s OS X that can be wielded to corrupt the OS X’s memory in the kernel. The discovery comes merely days after Apple recently patched a local privilege escalation vulnerability that gave the means for attackers to install malicious programs onto computers. Quite simply, Mac users running OS X Yosemite are vulnerable to malware that could let an attacker gain complete remote access to their computers. >>Source

WordPress Exploit Leads To Neutrino Exploit Kit Traffic
In what seems to be an event too common, another WordPress vulnerability has been found and is being exploited. The exploit targets users that are running an older version of the CMS, 4.2 and earlier. The exploited sites redirect users via iframe to a malicious site with a Flash exploit, the one in the Neutrino EK, waiting to install CryptoWall 3.0 on a user's device. The Flash exploit typically is used on users running the infamous Internet Explorer. Researchers believe that over 2600 sites have been infected and backdoored. Users who are not using Internet Explorer when visiting the infected sites are not shown the iframe containing the infected page and cookies prevent users from being shown the iframe twice. CryptoWall 3.0 typically ransoms users $500 in BTC om return for the encryption key to decrypt a user's system. >>Source

QuickTime Code Execution Patched
Tech giant Apple has released a patch for Windows users with QuickTime. The patch addresses nine vulnerabilities. Five of the vulnerabilities allowed malicious users to create content that would crash QuickTime and in some cases execute code designated by the attacker. Despite patching these recently disclosed QuickTime vulnerabilities, Apple has yet to announce a patch for a kernel-level vulnerability in Mac OS X. The two vulnerabilities allow for escalated privilege and bypassing of some security features. However, the vulnerability is not present in the OS X 10.11 beta, typically known as OS X El Capitan. Only Mavericks (10.9) and Yosemite (10.10) are vulnerability to the kernel exploit. >>Source

Details on Patched iOS Sandbox Exiting Vulnerability
Last week, Apple patched a vulnerability on iOS that allowed malicious developers to bypass the sandbox the encapsulates third-party apps. According to two CVEs, the discoverers and reporters of the vulnerability was a researcher, Andreas Weinlein, at Appthority. The vulnerability affected devices that were running versions below iOS 8.4.1. The vulnerability took advantage of the mobile device management device that is installed in some iOS devices. MDM is typically used by IT departs to monitor the usage of cooperate or company owned devices. However, the CVEs warned that in certain situations, data pushed by MDMs can cause a breach in the sandbox. Users should upgrade to iOS 8.4.1 at their earliest convenience. >>Source

Madden NFL 16 Bug Makes This Defender Hate the Air
Every year Madden seems to get better. With their latest installment of the popular franchise, there's no shortage of bugs and errors with it. Glitches are routine for sports games, and are arguably the best part of them. We've had football players flying through the air, soccer players getting together for an apparent brunch at midfield, and of course last year's miniature Madden 15 player. EA has already been made aware of these bugs and are looking to release a patch once the game goes into full swing within the next week. >>Source

The time has come and we've been blessed with the Black Ops 3 beta. When the beta first launched it was confirmed that level 28 was the cap and there were no more unlocks you could get once you hit that level. Treyarch has now raised the level cap to level 34 which allows for even more unlocks and even released a brand new map for all the hardcore fans, Stronghold. Level 34 cap now allows players to unlock and use more items and equipment in Treyarch's third installment in the Black Ops franchise. >>Source

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Unveiled
With Fall coming along, Samsung’s next flagship phablet rolls in as well – the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Following in the footsteps of the Note 4, The Note 5 keeps the same 2k resolution AMOLED display, under the tough Gorilla Glass 4. Not only is it borrowing from the Galaxy Note 4, but I employs the same processor as it’s little brother, the Galaxy S6, hosting an Exynos 7420 Octa-core processor. One of the Note 5’s more noteable features is the impressive 4GB of rams it packs inside, allowing for some hardcore multitasking. Not only is that fantastic, but the camera is something to marvel too, having a 16MP sensor which is on par with the LG G4, although the lens’ aperture is not as wide.

Now if you’re a road warrior, here’s what may make or break the phone for you. Unlike it’s predecessors, the Note 5 does not feature a removable backing, or expandable storage. The max storage space available on the device will be 64GB, which is lower than many newer flagships. Samsung also decided to go a different way with the battery, giving it a much smaller 3000 mAh battery, as opposed to the Note 4’s 3220 mAh battery. Whether the sacrifices the new iteration offers are outweighed by the newer features like top of the line power and specs, style, and features like wireless charging is up to the user. >>Source

Hackers Release Ashley Madison Users’ Info
A team of hackers known as “Impact Team” have decided to release breached data earlier this month from the Ashley Madison website. The data contains the emails, passwords, credit card related information, and other personal info of members of the adult affair website. The hacking team claims the leak is a result of the website’s parent company, Avid Life Media, not taking down the website after Impact Team requested them to. Avid Life Media has claimed that there is legitimate data in the dump, and that they will continue in a criminal investigation to find the hackers and prosecute. >>Source

Samsung to Release 16TB SSD
One year from now, Samsung has planned to release a solid state drive with over 150% of the storage capacity of the largest currently available SSD. The drive’s cost is planned to be in the range of $5000-$7000 USD. The drive utilizes Samsung’s 3D V-NAND technology, allowing the solid state drive to be faster, hold more storage space, and consume less power. Interestingly enough, the creation of this drive will mean SSD capacity will be larger than HDD capacity for the first time ever.According to Michael Yang, a memory and storage research director at HIS iSuppli, "Since only one 16 TB-level SSD is required to store the data from as much as four of the latest SSDs combined, the cost needed to build a high-capacity server can be drastically reduced." >>Source

Two Chinese Explosions
Last week China had an explosion which was equivalent to 3 tonnes of TNT which is the same as 21 tonnes. In the port city of Tianjin, where two explosions happened one after the other as the whole city rumbled, so much so that it could be felt from a reported 100 miles away. Officials are not sure how the explosions happened yet but did know that it originated from a warehouse on the port that contained many dangerous and flammable chemicals including: calcium carbide, sodium cyanide, potassium nitrate, ammonium nitrate, and sodium nitrate. Reports show that an estimated 50 people have died with a further 60 in critical condition. Over 700 people were also admitted to hospital during the explosion.

In another smaller explosion in China, a chemical plant in China's eastern Shandong province has blow-up killing at least one with a suspected nine more critically hurt. Although no contamination has been detected the authorities are worried that the fire may create poisonousness gas. A small residential area is close to the chemical plant and so authorities are on high alert in case there are any chemical detections in the air. About 150 firefighters and 20 fire engines fought the blaze. Howard Zhang of BBC Chinese says that the blasts at Shandong and Tianjin have taken on a political significance and threaten to overshadow China's celebrations of the 70th anniversary of its victory over Japan in World War Two.

French Train Attempted Terrorist Attack
Six passengers who tackled a suspected radical Islamist on board a train travelling from Amsterdam to Paris have been awarded the highest award as the passengers fought a potential terrorists attack. French President Francois Hollande will give the Legion d'honneur to the passengers in a few days but here is how the drama started. Spencer Stone was the real hero of the story which took a rough turn when suspected Ayoub El-Khazzani was spotted on the train carrying a Kalashnikov rifle and was confronted by an unnamed French passenger who tried to grab the gun. The French passenger was then shot in the neck. In this time three American off-duty military servicemen Spencer Stone and Alek Skarlatos, and Anthony Sadler who were also in the first class carriage heard the commotion and charged at the man, with Mr Stone reaching him first. He tackled the extremists to the ground and wrested the rifle away from him at which point the extremist pulled out a box cutter and slashes at Mr Stone a few times injuring him. His other servicemen then grabbed the weapon and hit the extremist with the barrel of the gun knocking him unconscious. Even with his sustained injuries Mr Stone then went straight to the aid of the unnamed Frenchmen and tried to stop the bleeding by putting his fingers in the whole and pushing down on the artery which worked. The extremist is now under arrest and there were no further incidents on the train but all the men involved are now recognized as heroes who potentially stopped a horrible terrorist act. >>Source

Bangkok Bombing
A bomb left at a busy Erawan Shrine in central Bangkok on Monday evening killed 20 people and injured scores. Police currently say that at least 10 people are suspected of involvement in the attack and have released a sketch of who they think the main suspect is. Currently officials don't believe the bombing has any connection with other terrorists attack across the world and believe it is a isolated incident with no current groups claiming responsibility. Analysts also show there are no local groups with a track record to do such a thing and so there is rumours that this may be a new unknown group or just potentially a private affair of a group of psychopaths. Unfortunately even with an abundance of CCTV footage the authorities are making slow progress in identifying the suspects and don't even have the correct immigration records so are unsure if they have left the country. Right now all there is are a few sketches and still images of a man in yellow. >>Source

The HF News is uninteresting and is simply too long. Most of the people who post won't care to read, they'll just comment with some rubbish "Great edition; keep it up."

Abrupt start of a sentence? I think it should be more like "The new level 34 cap..."
Another good read.
And no, I don't check it all, only the parts that interest me, but sometimes I do wander. XD
Is it sad this is how I get most of my news?
