So what happens with account recovery in instances such as mine where you were gifted for the upgrades, so you have never given HF any 'actual' information other than IP logins?

This Help Doc mainly refers to people who lose access to their account, not the actual account recovery process. It outlines penalties for losing access to your account.

Does not randomly reset. If it does again PM me and I'll double check the IP disabling it.

But surely, it's something on your end because Gauth would not just reset on its own.

If you are talking about the code you use to sign in with ex: Authy then yes it does change every now and then.
