Tor has it's uses, please don't be an uneducated retard and post for the sake of it Quote:Your website is blocked in my country. How do I download Tor? You can also try the following from a terminal: Code wget https://www.torproject.org/dist/torbrowser/5.0.7/tor-browser-linux32-5.0.7_en-US.tar.xz

Did you try this on the command line? Code apt-get install torBecause sometimes this doesn't work. Try either one of these: Code sudo apt-get install torCode sudo yum install torDepending on which Linux version you're running (Fedora, CentOS, or Debian distributions) and in which kernel you're operating, the install command will be different. https://www.torproject.org/docs/debian.html.en There's a full tutorial on it here if it still doesn't work (To the left there is a menu where you can select the Linux version you're running and get the apprioriate help). If that all fails have you tried another browser than ice weasel? Try Opera for example: http://www.opera.com/nl/computer/linux (Jan 14, 2016 03:45 PM)johnnyBcool Wrote: Tried do download tor browser through ice weasel download gets so far then freezes as anyone any idea..? If your using Ubuntu or a derivative of it, you can keep tor updated along with your other software by going to a terminal and adding this repo: Code sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/tor-browserthen press Enter to accept it. Then run this: Code sudo apt-get install tor-browser🎉🎉 ![]() (Jan 15, 2016 03:15 PM)johnnyBcool Wrote: As i say i'm new to hacking just learning do i need tor browser ? or can i just use the kali linux browser Tor browser is used to browse the 'deepweb'. The deepweb is full of sick, very much illegal and just perverted things. One does not simply browse it without feeling sick or becoming sick in the head. So I'd recommend using anything else in combination with a VPN. Tor can be used for clearnet sites (the www as we know it), but it's easy to get constricted in these sick sites. Curiousity killed the cat as they say. I know that from experience sadly.
Well i certainly do not want to go down the wrong path,or get involve with anything illegal and perverted, maybe thats why its so hard to download i now have it saying tor bowser should not run as root, i'm only interested in ethical hacking what other browser could i use for this type of hacking?

Well I'd say Firefox because it can handle a lot of plug ins, however a browser isn't really a hacking tool. You can find tools to execute SQL Injection type of attacks but I'm not sure if they use a browser/what kind of browser they require. You could look around a bit in the Tools section (Jan 16, 2016 06:55 PM)johnnyBcool Wrote: ACCORDING to lots of tutorials on youtube you do need tor browser to stay hidden i have got so fr with it but I wouldn't be messing with Tor yet anyway, try your luck with Firefox + a VPN or Proxy to stay hidden. There are many free VPNs like [censored] and good paid ones like PureVPN (if you go for a paid one, use BitCoins to stay anonymous). Furthermore Tor is like a browser with a built in VPN, so using them separate should work nearly the same but might result in some more RAM space being used up. So as a beginner I would go for Firefox/[censored] combination and move up to a paid VPN when you're really getting into more serious stuff. Make sure your VPN is always on when doing hacking stuff, because Tor doesn't protect you outside of Tor itself. |
