Shiki, adapted from the horror novel written by Fuyumi Ono, goes beyond the average vampire story. It tells the tragic tale of survival in a world where one cannot easily distinguish between good and evil. Abandoned by God, the Shiki, as the vampires call themselves, have only their will to live as they clash with the fear of the paranoid/unbelieving villagers. Shiki explores the boundary that separates man from monster.

I enjoyed most of this anime, but not so much when they started piecing things together. Pretty good though. Still one of my favorite horror anime.

Quick question, should I watch the two special episodes in the episode number order (so 20.5 and 21.5), or should I watch them after finishing Shiki?

I honestly did not know there were two special episodes. I would assume it would be best to watch them in order, hence the labels. I read that they were unaired episodes between the times 20-21 and 21-22 took place, so it probably won't harm anything to watch them after each corresponding episode.

Watch them in the order.

So watch 20.5 after 20, and 21.5 after 21.

Shiki is the one and only blu-ray I have at my house. Was one of my favorite anime. It wasn't scary or horrifying or anything tbh, but it did pose the always classic and always cliche morality issues.

Just finished Shiki. It was a good Anime, but not good enough to make it in my Top 10 sadly. I would still recommend it thought. And I was glad to see that this epic pops appears until the very end of the show, fuck he's awesome.
