It is that time again! The greatest time of the year! In the coming months before Christmas, you, myself and many of your fellow anime fans will be scurrying to analyze, secure and order the best anime merchandise available on the web! What makes this particular occasion even better is that these will not be ordered as gifts for one's self, but to be sent to a person you may not even know. This sacred tradition of this section has been a mainstay of our community for over 5 years now! Please continue reading to find out how to participate in this amazing event yourself!

What is the Anime Adventures Secret Santa Event?

The AA Secret Santa event is where members of the AA community come together and rejoice in the industry that has engrossed us all. Members of this section will participate in a gift giving event. Commonplace in many US communities and other communities across the planet, participants are assigned, at random, a special recipient to surprise for Christmas. In this event you will purchase a gift anonymously as a "Secret Santa" who will send their recipient a gift. This gift may be tailored to the recipients liking or it could be something the Secret Santa deems appropriate. Whatever the case, everyone will be receiving a gift related to anime or Japanese culture. This event is done in good faith and to bring the AA community closer together during this special time of the year! Everyone who participates will be assigned their very own Secret Santa so no one is left out! Please come and join us this year and spread your goodwill to someone in Anime Adventures today!

Participant Requirements

Thank you for your interest in participating in the 2016 Anime Adventures Secret Santa Event. A certain level of trust must be present for those participants included in this event. In order to make sure all of those involved are safe, there are requirements that must be met before you are accepted onto the Santa list. Please review the following to see if you qualify!


Prerequisites for participants:

* You must have at least 100 posts in the AA section. These posts must be present before this threads creation date. Spamming the section to meet this requirement will not be accepted.
* You must have the ability to send and receive parcels in the mail or have a valid email address where you can receive digital gifts or items (gift codes, website subscriptions etc.)
* You must have at least $20 (+shipping/applicable fees) to invest in this event.
* You must be free of any scam reports on your account.
* Gifts sent must have some connection to anime or Japanese culture.

*As the host for this event, I retain the right to deny entry to anyone for any reason. I am also able to grant special entries to certain persons, for more information PM me!

Rules, Regulations and General Information

Rules:

* Absolutely no scamming - This is an official event and any scramming may result in account closure.
* You must send appropriate gifts - This means if your assigned recipient is under 18, do not send adult themed items. Items must be Japanese or anime related.
* Do not sent perishable items via mail - As much as I'd love some authentic Udon, I'm afraid it would not be very tasty after a 14 hour plane ride.
* Remain as anonymous as possible - One of the themes behind Secret Santa is selflessness - Try to keep your identity secret from your recipient.
* Do not ship illegal items or weapons - This should come as no surprise but shipping these items may result in legal action. Prop weapons or fake weapons are acceptable.

General Information:

* Participants must apply for entry before September 2nd 2016
* Pairs will be assigned Sept 3rd
* Late participants may apply until October 1st and will paired at a later date. Late participants have a higher possibility of not receiving their gifts until after the new year.
* Online codes and digital gifts are accepted so long as they meet the $20 minimum requirement. If using a currency aside from USD, please convert the currency and shop accordingly.
* Adult items are allowed so long as your recipient is of age and willing to accept adult themed items.

* Please note - Gifts sent are completely up to the Secret Santa and may not reflect your preferences.

Participant Information and Responsibilities

* Participants will be paired by region whenever possible. This is to reduce shipping costs and travel times.
* Participants will be paired randomly. Pairs are not pre-arranged or biased.
* Participants are not paired with each other unless under special circumstances.
* Participants are responsible for keeping track of shipment. If a gift is subject to a misshipment or needs a lost package claim filed, please contact me immediately.
* Participants are responsible for ordering in time to arrive before Christmas. If any complications occur, please notify me ahead of time.
* All participants will be listed publicly in this thread unless otherwise specified to me.
* Once a gift has been chosen, a receipt showing confirmation of order must be sent to me via PM. You will be reminded of this when pairing begins.

Super Santa Participants

New this year is the Super Santa. This is a special participant whom wishes to spread more cheer and love than the average anime fan. A Super Santa will be entered normally into the enrollment but also has the option to pick an additional recipient of their choosing. There is no limit to how many participants a Super Santa may adorn with gifts. If there is someone special you would like to anonymously gift, please enter this event normally but also send me a PM with the names of those you wish to add specifically. Super Santas will still have to gift a random person but has the option to also choose specific participants as well.
