How do you think the marketplace should be improved? || Bring Back "Reviewers"

And what would stop someone from abusing this "review" system by just denying a product that is good just because they dislike the person? I doubt this will EVER get implemented.
Only if Reviewers come back as an official group again and start reviewing every single e-Book for it's content, originality, potential and reveal about it to the customers.

Which I really doubt will happen. It was a much better place when they were around. None could possibly ever think of bullshitting people with their non working methods.

That would be the same as if a staff member abused their powers.
Obviously would have to be someone trustworthy doing it. Also, it is possible to have more than one person regulating a single product.

This will be created by me within 5 years if something does not get done. You heard it here first.

I'll be very happy to welcome it and also be a part of the group helping you clean up the mess in eBooks section.

Happy to hear that dude. I will need to get approved by Omni to own a group, then collect the cash to buy one.
This is a long-term plan as I am a broke college student, and $5k+ is a lot to put in at once. 🤣

Yep I really do understand that.

I think it will be improved by the vouch system when it's completed.

Nowadays? I'm just here for the nostalgia.

How can one limit the sale of information?

Setting aside the fact that they purchase 3 sections worth of stickies and ad banners

People who are hungry for a false sense of power and meaning

Plus a usergroup could actually do this...

Vouch, HQ product here! GLWS.

No they couldn't

That's like saying a private company should regulate the stock market instead of a government agency

Terrible idea don't bother wasting your time even thinking about it

You make me laugh. I would not put a usergroup IN CHARGE of an entire market, I was completely joking...

Too late, my mind is set. I will prove you wrong in a year or so.

What was the last news on the vouch system?

I remember it being mentioned a long time ago but nothing since then.

I mean honestly, I would be up for this too. Many ebooks are worth shit nowadays.

That is why when I get the opportunity, I will create a group, official or not, that is willing to do honest reviews. Not saying people are required to use us, but if they do, it will make them look better if it is a solid eBook.

Only downside to this is that I will not be making any money (nor would the group), but I will figure that part out.

In response to people who questioned who would want to review thousands of products, I would. I'm one of those people in life who will always tell you what they think and not care about the impact their opinion has on others. If I could I would gladly spend countless hours purchasing every product, putting it to the test and thoroughly writing my personal opinion of it, whether it's shit or not, the community has to know!

Although this is the kind of group I'd love to be a part of there is one issue that you addressed, money. Having to be able to spend up to $100 a week to review an eBook is 1. not financially possible for most people here and 2. would very shortly lead the wealth people here to being poor. I think, unless we could make each product being reviewed by us a mandatory thing or making sellers want us to review their product then it'll be hard for the group to last long, financially.

I hope when you make this group I'd have the opportunity to be a part of it,
James.
As a group, we would not be spending any money on products. The whole purpose is to have users come to us with vouch copies and for us to leave an honest review. What you stated about having it mandatory is how it was when Omni created the group himself. Obviously, something happened (I haven't able to what happened yet) and Omni decided to remove the group entirely. This group would be volunteering their time to write honest and high quality reviews, that's all. Our goal would be to have those in the community trust in our review, and to push the sellers of products and services to use us a tool. If a seller refuses to use us, it does not mean their product is bad any means, they have the choice to not use us. However, those who decide to use us will receive a review that breaks everything down. Some of the Sellers may or may not be happy with the review, but that's the whole point of a review, is it not?

Members within the group would have to be highly trusted by not only myself, but the community. Their interest must be to make the marketplace better for hackforums, not to benefit themselves. Reputation and age of each individuals will take into account and consideration when selecting members to invite, but that will not be all. I will have almost dig into people's information, figure out who they truly are, then go from there. I hate to say no to you, but quite honestly, I would be looking for a much more reputable member.
How to improve the Marketplace:
Ban all gambling "money making" ebooks. It's literally impossible to profit off gambling aside from dumb luck.

I think the marketplace is just fine, you just gotta do something about those scammers.

eBook sellers are just eBook sellers.
