See a lot of users who can't post in deal disputes because the person they want to open a dispute on has -3'd them, isn't there a way to add exceptions for reputation in that particular section?
For example: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5843343 He had to make a new account to post it in there
I feel like this has been suggested before and denied for some reason. I agree an exception should be made

Took the time to read the dd.
yes, its sad that he had to break another rule just to make a deal dispute.
If he had asked for rep, then would have got banned.
So either way, he was in a tough spot.
This, sure in my opinion makes a bad impression on HF, that victims even are not allowed to create deal disputes let alone get scammed.
We have a plugin written that will allow members to keep track of deals, rate deals, and open disputes on a specific deal. This will replace the Deal Dispute forum and shouldn’t have any reputation limitations. Coming very soon to HF.

Great, sounds good and hope there will be minimum chance of getting fake deal disputes or in this case it would be great if it happens that stuff remove fake Deal dispute.

This is how it will work:
-You initiate a “contract” (deal) with another member. They can accept/deny.
-If they accept... you both have time to discuss the contract terms. Both users must agree to each other’s terms before the contract progresses.
-If both users confirm the contract terms... this is when the users complete the deal.
-Once the deal is complete then each user can mark the contract as finished.
-Both users can rate the contract. This rating system will REPLACE Marketplace style reputation. So likely even “Deal with caution” reps will be disallowed after the plugin releases. Definitely scammer reps will be disallowed.
-Either user (or both) can open a dispute directly from the contract. You NEED a confirmed contract before you can create a dispute.

This is amazing.
Will there be any staff interaction in terms of punishments for breaking contracts or will it remain how it is now and strictly 'staff do not get involved'?
Keep up the great work.

Staff won’t get involved. But we will be able to provide better and more accurate statistics so members can more easily protect against scammers.
How many deals a member has done.
How many deals associated with a specific thread.
How many UNIQUE member deals (aka # of members dealt with).
More accurate rating system. It’s only for the Marketplace. 2000 rep doesn’t always mean 2000 rep from marketplace. Now forum reputation and your Marketplace rating will be separate. This value will display on posts instead of rep (only in the Marketplace).
Great search tools to sift through the new data.
Oh and a concept page called “marketcp.php”. Manage all of your Marketplace dealings and HF dealings (paid sticky manager, sales tag manager, etc).

Wow this sounds great, and I think it is crazy you are now an admin, don't know how long you've had that status but I do remember you from when you where a regular user so congrats even if I am super late. 😝
Ontopic:
My only thing to add to this new feature though, it won't make current rep system disappear will it? Or will there be some type of feature where current reputation somehow could maybe transfer as credit to the new system? I know rep is not considered much by a lot of people but I take pride in the fact that most of my reps are from dealing or helping users and would hate to see that disappear... it's 8 years of people vouching or commenting about me since I been around here. 😟

It's been about since March, thanks. 🙂
Also... the reputation system will still exist, just not for Marketplace activity. IDK if Omniscient plans on running some queries to remove market-style reputation or not though. It is still good data and years worth of vouches/disputes.

Exactly. Even if it becomes almost obsolete I don't think current reputations should be wiped away for this reason.
Xerotic thank you for explanation.
One more question. If you have forum rep: 500 and marketplace rep: 500 will you be able to get r3kt or you need to have 1000 forum rep?

That’s something that hasn’t been discussed but market rep will likely not be counted towards it. The plug-in as it is currently written certainly doesn’t do anything with rekt.
