So I don't think this belongs in the gamers lounge due to the nature.

It has recently been revealed that Riot Games / League of Legends client will find tabs open in your browser. It's something I have believed Runescape/Jagex to have done for years, detecting names of programs running/installed - hence why they don't tell people how they detect botters - to scare people away.

Right so what has been revealed?

If you open training tool in League of Legends - while having a tab open in your browser on google, searched for "Cheat engine" - the game will crash at the 10 second mark.






Vandril tested it on YT as have I(those screenshots above are mine) - he tested it by changing the title of any window in his browser to contain cheat engine.
He also tested it with changing a text file name to "not using cheat engine" and it crashed at 8 seconds just having it on his PC.


So let me test this, but if I name this thread to contain in the title "Cheat engine" - and you have this tab open in your browser, your game will crash.
-- Tested -- it will crash your game/should crash your game having this thread open while trying to play.


Just to be clear, I have had cheat engine installed on this current machine for a long ass time - They don't give a fuck if you install cheat engine, it will work fine - just don't have the title in a browser

I miss the old time where you could use Cheat Engine to easily bypass Hackshield and even use anti-ban in Maplestory.

Pokerstars and FullTilt were fuckers for this back in the day. Their clients were basically legal spyware that could and very often would analyse, view, screen shot and generally take a shit on your rights and privacy. It is wrong and should be heavily punished IMO.

Sounds like a half ass way to try to prevent people from cheating, or maybe they're not legally able to obtain certain information which is why they tried to make a walk around.

it also doesn't help publishing what info your collecting since a lot of these parameters can be spoofed

Talking about anti cheat.. Bethesda's revolutionary implementation for FO 76 wasn't much more than checking for Cheat Engine.exe 🤣
