Will video calls ever replace phone calls?

What do you think? As technology develops and internet becomes faster and faster, will we see video calls replacing phone calls? And would that help reduce things like swatting, call center scams, pranks etc?
Yeah I hope we develop those 3d hologram stuff where we call each other and a little hologram pops up from our phones of whatever of the other person and we talk face to face and can see each other’s emotions/body language/sarcasm/facial expressions.

Shit that you only see in movies, it’ll happen some day.

The sad part about video chats is that you can’t be naked laying in bed just waking up looking like a sack of shit when your boss calls or something like that ya know.

Maybe people will get used to seeing each other looking like a sack of shit. 60 years ago the dress code of businesses was way more formal than it is today, so probably in the future people will be going to work in pajamas
Could see that happening in the future. Maybe normal phone calls will still be around as a backup in rare situations when there's an issue.
I believe not. Conversation via voice is just a different feeling. Yet we can't be sure about it. There was a time when letters dominated in telecommunication. Now voice calls do. Who knows, someday video calls might take the crown? 🤝
Video calls are pretty popular as it is, at least for intimate contacts. People aren't always prepared to do video for strictly platonic, or business calls.

It's popular to some group of people but it's still not being used by the majority. However, I think it will be used much more when 5G comes out.
I dont think so
You cant video chat at every place and moment
It will never happen. People don’t want to be inconvenienced with video calls and nobody will want to do it.

Fake calls or spoofed calls can come to a crawling stop if US carriers and telephone companies verify the #. It cuts the fat off of spoofed numbers. Read up on STIR/SHAKEN. Took way too long for us to get here though.
Too intrusive, people now prefer texting than having a voice conversation.

nah, I don't like video calls.
Ehh, I don't think so.
I mean people can start using it, but replace it by 100% no.
bro you gotta think about people who look ugly in facecam
Never. Because people don't like being visible while they gossip xD
