Hey guys, I wanted to show you my custom antenna hoping it could give anyone who is looking to make something like this some ideas here's what I used for it:
- cheap aluminum adjustable 60" tripod (any cheap DSLR one will do. Make sure it has a threaded hole to mount the camera)
- Hyperlink HG2415Y 14.5 dbi yagi antenna
- Lens Tripod Collar Mount Ring for Nikon AF-S 80-200mm f/2.8D
- Hyperlink HA2401-AGC100C 100mw Amp
- Coaxial pigtails N Male to N Male (x2)
- Coaxial pigtail N Male to RP-SMA Female
- Alfa AWUS036H
Optional
- Green Laser (for pointing signal direction) :p
It perfoms amazingly, especially for recon, sniffing and attacks, considering im in a "closed quarters" enviroment. I havent tested it on a "free line of sight" scenario. To get a mount that would fit the yagi, I had to measure the diameter and compare it to camera mounts and the diameter of their lens. I found the Nikon one to be an almost perfect fit, the missing 2mm of space i just filled it up with bubble wrap which also protects the antenna housing from scratching with the mount.

Here's a scan on airodump using the AWUS036H without the amp, just the yagi and the alfa in monitor mode
