Do you ignore the ads in Google results too?

I tend to ignore them and focus on the results that rank high naturally. After all there was an incident a year or so ago where a fake crypto-related website used google ads to phish people's accounts.

I use ad blocker so yes, its auto filtered
I also use an ad blocker.

But if I didn't, I'd ignore the ads.
I turned off adblock for a week last year. It's surprising how much of the same shit you see. Advertisement targeting is incredible.

Even with adblock I can't escape the facebook ads on my phone. Which is generally the same pair of lacoste shoes i've considered buying for months.

I tend to use an adblocker for almost all websites, if a website is particularly useful and/or interesting I enable ads on it :)
They almost got me the other day

Yeah, but fuck the sites that dont let you view it before popping up with 'please disable your adblocker'. Instantly not happening.

Unless they do some elaborate censure of the content like preview images or replacement it's very easy to do inspect element and remove blocker

I also tend to quit the edgy ones immediately

Not about obscuring the site. Not sure what it is that ticks me off tbh, I know they need the revenue to run in the case of larger sites. I'm just bitter lol

There always have been these sort of phishing campaigns with MEW and blockchain wallet.

Are they still going on? I haven't seen any for a long time.

Google is doing better to block these.

Yeah, I tend to ignore them quite frequently unless something really catches my attention.

I’m normally in some sort of “rush” so don’t have time to actually browse freely and just look for what I searched for initially.

I used to use AdBlocker but I figured that the ads are often beneficial for myself. I have ads blocked on things like YouTube and movie streaming sites, etc though.

They have gone far beyond data mining to figure out your interests, and giving respective ads.

They have built AI systems that can literally read your mind. I never talked about dog toys before, never had a dog in my life, and was thinking about it one day. Got chromecast playing some YouTube videos, all a sudden 2 minutes later there is an advertisement playing for dog toys at a pet store that is nowhere even close to my country. Makes sense right?

Google Ads has a much much much better system now.
You cloak campaigns? You get banned.
