Policy Question

Marketplace Rules

Hello,

One of my marketplace topics, that had linked to my website to view more information about the product I am selling was removed & warned. Without any verbal warning whatsoever, considering it was a clear misunderstanding of the rules (already discussed it in the topic).

We're not allowed to link any website at all when advertising here on HF? Even if it's just for them to view more information about my product? The topic can only fit so much information.

From what I understand VENDOR's are allowed to but to do that you need to be UB3R and have to be approved as VENDOR. So for normal members and L33T's it's pretty much a no go to advertise an already existing business on here?

It seems like a long way to go, simply to advertise your service/business on here. This will simply prevent people from advertising their businesses on here, or even paying for stickies. I paid for three 1 month stickies, and now I see no use of them at all.
Add the additional information to your thread in a spoiler. Problem solved everyone is happy.

Statistics, server list and all that is dynamically updated daily. Information that my clients would like to know, where my servers are located - how many are connected and the server load. But again, the website is an auto buy website.. so I can't do that?

It seems like a silly rule, they are def losing out on money for people paying stickies when it's that restricted. Being a VENDOR has too many restrictions as well, so simply a no go for already established businesses looking to pay for advertisements on here.

Afaik you can link to autobuy shops like selly etc, but I'm not too sure if you can link personal sites without vendor. I mean I guess clearly you cannot. The most reasonable solution I see for this is to update the statistics on your thread daily. Just pop in a screenshot of the stats for the day. A little effort yes, but worth it imo.

I'm not looking for any solutions on how I can update the topic or anything, just want to get a more clear answer on the rules. So many topics from non-vendors have links in their topic titles, linking to auto-buy. And that's fine? It seems like a very confused rule.

Linking autobuy shops like selly, but not a personal one? That would make it so I could literally just generate a fuck ton of keys and sell it via selly.. but that also makes no sense, because it wouldn't make it any less risky if that's the case.

you can link a site but if you can purchase something from it without a contract you cannot, vendor or not.

I'm sure theres reasons sites like selly are allowed. Whether or not selly has a firm legal team etc.. I do see people linking their personal sites but I'm not sure if they're doing it in the same way you are..? I'd wait for a staff reply.

Thanks, that cleared that up for me too.

But is Selly allowed? As this user previously stated.

I mean so is my website, we're a fully legally registered business & has been since 2017.

Selly is allowed if you apply for vendor, get approved and then setup a contract template that will show the autobuy link once they open a contract. You cannot post a website link that allows a user to buy without a contract.

Ah shit, just realised anyone can apply for VENDOR's. Doesn't need to be UB3R Apparently.. I'll shoot my shot, thanks for the responses 🤝
Marketplace Violations

Look at rule #6. Also, you wasted your money on stickies because you didn't want to read. Hopefully you learned your lesson.

It was a blast being on staff. I stepped down as it's time for me to move on. I wish you all the best and if you were hit by my warnings and/or bans, it was nothing personal.

Peace out!
