How do I resolve a dispute with a member that has been banned?

(Feb 13, 2020 04:11 PM)AMGTech Wrote:  So we are just going to have open dispute with banned member forever? That is so unfair..

Ya I don't agree with it at all but it is what it is
I got scammed and the guy got closed and left a negative b rating, i think you're just gonna have to live with it.

No one hesitates to deal with me for mine, but I guess it was clear that I was the one who was scammed.

Goodluck with it though

Next time before complaining about staff not giving a shit maybe do your due diligence and spend 2 mins to read Omni's threads in the vendor's subforum section.

While I think a better/automated process should be implemented, in the meantime give Omni credit where credit is due. I'm sure he doesn't enjoy spending his time reviewing disputes/contracts to ensure they are valid.

I do think he is doing very good work, this is the best forum I have been on and they always add cool features.

Maybe he should get a staff member dedicated to contracts/disputes, it would save him and us a lot of ball ache.

It looks so unprofessional on my profile and now I hear there is nothing I can do about it even though the member is banned and I already helped him fix his problem, maybe when members get banned all their contracts should get deleted too, don't think it would be hard to do

In regards to contracts being deleted when a user is banned, this has been suggested in the past and was declined by Omni. And for a good reason. What if they were really scammed and the DD was legitimate? Why should it be removed just because they got closed/banned for an unrelated reason?
I think I've read somewhere from Omni that u may have negative b-rating with closed member, it still might be legit if member is closed for another reasons which are not marketplace related.

Correct me if I'm wrong

Ah that is good point, maybe when they are banned they should be able to log in just to view their contracts/disputes and nothing else, or like I said get a staff member dedicated to this sort of thing and if you provide him proof that you have resolved with the banned user he could close, because it seems I am not the only one with problems with this.. I know how skilled admins/developers here are there must be something that could be done to prevent this
