My journey from a fat 19 year old virgin to 31 years old in life and on HF

This upcoming week is my 31st birthday. I have also been on HF for more than a decade I just didn't post much, but HF has been a part of my life I have learned many things from this forum. I am from India, I come from a very humble background, my father worked 9 to 9 (12 hour shift) and mother social worker. Currently, I am living in South East Asia.

I originally joined in 2008 to learn about phishing because I was hacked by a hacker through phishing. Over time I got more knowledge and got into programming. I downloaded some vb.net, c# projects and learned it during a summer vacation, then I got into PHP, java and other things.

I dropped out of my masters degree from Indian college, because I thought my college didn't provide any value and I was wasting time. Companies refused to hire me as I did not have any experience and no masters degree. I used to travel in the sun and 45 degree weather to give interviews but companies always refused to hire me. Then after few tries I finally landed a job in a company who said I would have to work as an intern for free in exchange for experience. I worked there for 5 months for free until they started paying me.

This is me age 23 fat, depressed, suffered from a disability called ptosis, got bullied in school for that for many years. Parents, friends families no one believed in me, everyone thought I was a loser. Even I myself thought I was a loser, but I always had a gut feeling that something good is waiting for me in the future, and I just had to work hard and better myself with skills and knowledge.

My first salary was 100$ a month. It's very low in western countries but in India 100$ is difficult but still survivable. Then later I changed my job in another company there they paid me 200$. But here it was different, the boss trusted me and my skills he gave me new challenges and I did all the projects very nicely. Then every year my salary went few hundred dollars. 500$, 700$ then 900$.

After that I had enough money for my eye surgery, so I got my eye surgery and fixed my ptosis. It was a very painful surgery as doctors had to open my eyes while I was partially awake. My family supported me during the surgery, my eyes were covered for 2 days. When they opened my eyes, first time in years I could fully open my eyes and see properly, I felt a new confidence in me.
surgery pics too graphic

Later that year, I quit my job and worked with a Japanese client. They were kind enough to invite me to Japan and work with their business team for a while.

Here is a pic of me in Sensoji temple, last year

Now I work for 3 good clients in SE Asia, Japan and India. This is a payment I received few days ago from a client. It is in rupees it's around 1600$, I have 3 clients at the moment.

This is me today proud, confident, financially stable. I also work out 3-4 days a week. Age 30

Here with my girlfriend, I always wanted an oriental girlfriend :D, and today I have one. We have our issues, but we love each other.

My achievements aren't extraordinary, but I am proud of what I have achieved so far. I did not have anything good going for me in life, middle-class family, an eye disability, obesity, constant bullying in school. But as steve jobs said you just have to trust that someday the pieces will fall in together, your hard work is like the pieces of a puzzle and when the time comes they will eventually come together and the right people will show up in your life.

I know there are many young people on this forum, many from India like me. I just want to say don't waste your time, read a lot of books change your mindset, I could have achieved more if I had a winner mindset few years ago. Whatever you are focusing on, keep working towards your goals, set yearly or five year goals. Your mindset is everything. You are only worth how your value your time.

Always stay humble, stay focused on your goals, be kind towards others, and always invest into your savings and honing your skills. A 12$ course can make you 12000$ in the future, knowledge is priceless.

Update: Life isn't fckin easy... I got dumped by her after 2 years. Just few weeks after this thread. Read more here https://hackforums.net/newthread.php?fid=180
Dude this is awesome, thanks so much for sharing your story. I am happy everything worked out for you and you never gave up. Your post gave me motivation and honestly it's the most positive story I have ever read on HF in my own whole history of being a member here.

I was motivated by your story dude! Thank you for sharing it here. I lot of people give up when they about to reach their goal to become successful. I'm also trying to make a living through online and still hoping to stumble a method that will allow me to sustain my everyday expenses. once again thanks for sharing your story.

Thanks for the kind words. I think the best way to make money online consistently is learning a skill and selling it either through services or through teaching others. Of course you can find a method through an ebook that works for a while but when it stops you are back looking for another method. I had made some quick profits from selling app on hf but it was short lived as I didn't think long term.

A skill gets refined with time and I'd rather sell a skill online for long term than some short term method. One of the guys who taught me financial analysis he makes 800$ a week passive income just by teaching 1-2 hours on Skype. So just saying think long term and play slowly. Good luck bro.
Happy bday bro! Glad to see you much happier yo.
Title of this made me thought it was a troll but rlly glad it wasn’t lmao
Dope post
Amazing story, I really enjoyed my read. I’m glad it worked out for you in the end and that you’re happy doing what you do. All the best to you.
That's a great story and all, but I don't believe that your girlfriend is oriental. Or else you wouldn't have hid her face
Thanks all

Ah no I just hid it to keep her privacy and identity. My girlfriend is a beautiful  Vietnamese girl who I met during working for one of my clients in Vietnam haha. 😁
Good shit man I lost 100 kg too. https://prnt.sc/ukt4au
