Since nobody wants to figure out how to get rich on their own I’ll give you a straightforward outline on exactly what to do if you want to make a lot of money. Before u continue reading, this isn’t a fucking autopilot method that’s going to make u 10k grand every 15 seconds sorry.
So when I was 13 I got a job at a local screen printing shop with the idea that I want to start my own clothing brand and will not be outsourcing for anything. I went into it knowing I’m here to learn everything and dip at 18 once I graduate. I started doing the manual labor, actual screen printing for about 2 years then when I was 15 I moved into customer support stuff like invoicing and taking orders ect. A year after that I was practically running the shop at 16, the owner stopped coming in and everyone who came to place orders was talking to me. 2 years later after doing that I had saved up a shitload of money as when I started I was making $14/hour at 13 (walk in the door at a screen printing shop with no experience is a lot of money). I lived with my parents and never had any interest in buying useless shit so honestly I never spent a dollar of what I made.
I’m just a normal person with a vision, what I did could be replicated by anyone. I had absolutely no experience. Just walked in and said this is what I want to do you have me for 5 years the I’m gone. Keep in mind I worked fucking hard man it was hard work I was doing 60+ hours a week (after I graduated of course), every weekend I was there it was insane. You haven’t felt anger until you get screamed at by unhappy customers and can’t say anything negative back.
Anyways, I’m 18 now and I’ve opened my own shop with 3 employees currently doing local stuff along with a lot of out-of-state stuff. Basically I used the magical words of I’ll do it for less and took everyone’s business. I targeted schools and other sport-type functions as it’s a very large amount of consistent orders since sport teams and such. I went after big businesses as all they care about is who will do it for less. I have no desire to run a screen printing shop as the real money is within a global clothing brand.
My vision is to launch a streetwear style clothing brand and promote it mainly through social media, I’ve been passively doing social media stuff for years just to get a grip on the site’s algorithms and learn how everyone else is promoting stuff. My entire life I’ve always been more interested in marketing than anything else, I would watch TV just for the commercials so I could pay attention to the marketing strategies.
The ultimate goal is to accumulate a bunch of smaller Instagram accounts and have them merged to one (ideally a 1-2M merge if not more) and then rebrand as a clothing company. This is already lined up and has been started, I’m currently growing a bunch of accounts and have begun merging them. I do understand a lot of followers will drop as they’ll be like “how the fuck am I following this account” but I’m only hoping a small percentage will. In reality if 1% of 2M people bought a $40 hoodie I’m in pretty good shape and all my costs are covered. I do understand 1% is an extreme exaggeration and unlikely to happen.
In addition to the streetwear clothing line I’m going to do holiday style shirts (meaning like Father’s Day shirts and such) as stuff like that can easily be marketed on amazon/Facebook.
In addition to both of those since fan pages are so huge on Instagram right now I’m going to target the biggest fan pages and create clothing lines for each celebrity they’re page revolves around then purchase promos to sell the clothing. These shirts will pretty much just be like “Ariana grande merch” ect. Also very very easy to market as the entire audience I’m promoting to loves Ariana grande presay since they’re following a fan page about her.
With all these clothing brands I’ll be printing all the shirts at my own shop and not outsourcing for anything. Since I’m a legit US business I can purchase clothing at wholesale prices being roughly $1 for a T-shirt and somewhere around $4-5 for a hoodie. Not sure if you’re realizing the markups here but it’s insane.
Anyways now that you’ve heard my vision, why not just replicate exactly what I’m doing? Screen printing jobs are everywhere, not only is it a good career but an amazing skill to have. I purchased all my own equipment for around 10k which if you think about it, starting a business for 10k is nothing.
Thanks to the very few who actually read all that.
