Sucks to be that guy. I'd contact the manufacturer and see if they could do anything, or talk to various red team companies around the world. If they can get in, they'll get a nice payday.

I think the article says that he tried offering a % of the BTC if they recover his BTC.

It would literally be a better thing for the economy for them to help in recovering the account. Eventually it would be bought and sold and so on, rather than sitting stagnant in some lonely wallet.

I don't think any value is lost by him losing his wallet. The value just transfers to the remaining bitcoin, decreasing the supply, which increases the price.

It's not like demand for bitcoin is going to change. Unless you're talking about money he donates after the wallet is opened up.

And a lot of hackers around here but none is voulentaring to crack his wallet... What a mean world... :p
Really sad one...and the system is built to ensure it's "hack-proof" so password recoveries are not allowed!

My thoughts exactly...anyone willing to take up the challenge?
It's funny that this is the second time I have seen this there was a company who ceo died and no one new the password to the wallet
that contained a ton of cash.
No one with power will teach you how to take it from them would you !?
