That's absolutely considered a higher end processor and if you aren't experiencing any CPU throttling when gaming then don't blow money for no reason. Now, if you wanted to add a little more oomph to your system you could always try to snag one of the 30 Ti series NVIDIA cards. If your current GPU is just a plain old 2060 you shouldn't have any problems playing games on decent settings, just not on ultra. I have a Ventus RTX 2060 and just recently was able to order a 3060 only 50 bucks above msrp. It was through EVGA's notification that I had to sign up for though, so I'm not sure how many people actually got cards. Just saw that Michigan's micro center is stocked full of gpus. ![]() BTC: 167ScV8TP9nihoZfzdKocYBBWE37zdSBfV ETH: 0x50E397D8c1779C74546cEdFaA89B685f9D6033DD Saving for new home, donations are appreciated.
I have the same setup, Ryzen 5 3600 (OC to 4.2) and RTX 2060 6GB, it is very good setup for 1080p gaming, if I ever buy a 4k monitor I would upgrade my GPU first because I think this CPU can handle it well.
I upgraded to this from Ryzen 5 2400G and RX 580 and it is a huge difference. (is the one we currently have good enough to run newer gpu)

As I said I had an Ryzen 5 2400G which I believe was also good enough paired with an RTX 2060 but I went for the Ryzen 5 3600 because of the few extra threads for my non gaming stuff and I do run servers alongside games often. I'm sure our CPU will be fine for a couple of years at least, I'm not an expert but 6 cores should be more than enough for gaming, also mine is overclocked slightly to keep 4.2 ghz all core instead of having PBO enabled and having it jump around 4.1-4.15, might not be a huge difference in performance but I noticed voltage was jumping a lot with it so I prefer to have a set voltage over that. If you want more details let me know, I dont know it from my head and you might not be interested in oc stuff.
I have been trying to get a 3080 FE since release but no luck everyone wants one, with the scalper prices being higher then 3090 FE prices or to close to 3090 prices I just opted to get a 3090 FE at MSRP from bestbuy as not alot of people want it and the 3090 stock seems to be good. I'm running a ryzen 7 3800x and it seems to be fine running everything on highest settings.

Have you heard aything positive about the new AMD cards? (graphics) (Aug 1, 2021 09:32 AM)Nate Wrote: Have you heard aything positive about the new AMD cards? (graphics) Yes, the RX 6800XT and RX 6900XT are both highly competitive with RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 respectively. |
