Auto comment on new sales threads whilst having open disputes.

Would be nice to have Stanley be first post on any new marketplace thread if buyer (buyer's bay) or seller has open disputes. example; " x_x has 3 open disputes[link to disputes] be careful dealing with users that have open disputes"
The problem is that any big sellers will have a couple of deal disputes and they could be about minor issues.

I mean places like ebay have algorithms that detect unusual activity so somebody suddenly on a scamming spree gets detected but that's probably way too difficult implement here.

Easily solved by buyer/seller asking staff via pm to remove it if their deal disputes were false, this would only be on new threads not already existing threads if you have an open dispute then make a new thread stanley will post.

If the disputes are at all valid then it should be made aware to any newcomer.
Hack Forums gives you the tools to check members credibility via B-Rating and open disputes on profiles. If a member doesn't have enough brain power to check those two factors before buying a product/service, what makes you think a post from Stanley will change anything?

Staff don't get involved in deals, this would require wasting their time evaluating deal disputes.

How would you feel if someone opened an invalid dispute on you and, because staff do not get involved with deal disputes, it stayed there forever, and every time you wanted to sell something, all people saw was a post warning against dealing with you?

Invalid deal disputes get removed, Ik the rules James and know you can't ask for staff to help with deal disputes but if the message from Stanley is caused by invalid deal disputes then it'll also be removed.

No new person knows shit about HF contracts or open disputes since it's not a thing on other forums they've been on. Staff already remove invalid deal disputes, what's 5s extra to delete a post?

As I said, I would recommend reading the Help Docs.

You are not the person who decides what happens with each dispute - they are not going to be removed simply because someone claims it is invalid, and staff are not going to police the deal dispute section to ensure there are no invalid disputes. Not every form of abusing the deal dispute system is as simple as "how do I send a payment" as the dispute reason.

If it is not valid it'll get removed, if it is valid then it should be easier for new people to see.

"Staff won't police deal disputes" so what? I'm not suggesting they should, I'm simply asking that it is made crystal clear a buyer/seller has open disputes if they make a new marketplace thread.

who is going to remove it?

AT the end of the day if you're going to send money to somebody you should check their profile out and see their deal disputes if they have any for yourself. If people are too lazy or just don't do that then really it's on them to an extent.

That's common sense to you and me but no new people, contracts is unique to HF (i think, never have seen it used on other forums) so how would a new person know that if they check the profile they can see disputes? for new comers they look at the left and see a lot of green numbers then check the posts on the thread, to them they have no clue open disputes is a thing. You can't fault people for not knowing something.
I think this would be a good idea, we would need some kind of decision maker who looks at disputes and settles them almost like ebay.

Then the staff member decides who gets the bad dispute rep.

I get where you're coming from, but lets be honest if you come to this forum with the sole purpose to buy stuff / services you need to do your homework on how the whole system works and who to deal with.

That said, I also see it being abused with people opening up invalid DD and even if it gets removed for being invalid (not saying this would always be the case, could see some DD never get removed) the duration of the the very thing you're suggesting would damage the legitimate service provider by scaring away potential clients.

staff don't ever handle disputes, nothing needs to change from now regarding the contract system. Just have Stanley post on new sales threads when the user has an open dispute.

The system they have zero awarness of? This would only affect brand new threads opened whilst having disputes, Stanley would not post on existing threads, only one's that he would be 1st post on. If it makes people more hesitent, then GOOD, that is literally most of the reason deal disputes exists in the first place! people should be made fully aware of when the OP has open disputes, this would resolve scammers just making new threads with hope of scamming people because the thread would not have any bad posts.

You can easily check the profile, doesn't take long and it's an easy way to spot whether they have deals disputed.

Easy. I'm aware we shouldn't over estimate hf members intelligence, but it's 1 click and literally couldn't be any easier. imo not needed to be added.

Edit:

They get pmed a link and notified to read the Help Docs, which also include safe marketplace trading and buying, I remember that from when I joined. They have awareness, it's their choice to ignore it though.

Again, they have no clue it exists, they probably don't read the rules if they're there to buy stuff since they won't be posting. It shouldn't be "oh well should of read Help Docs" that's not going to get them their money back and the scammer ends up taking more money. It is so fucking easy to toe the line between breaking the rules and just being a shitty businessman, you could have 20 open disputes and still scam new people easily everyday. Why would you object to Stanley giving fair warning to people? it feels like I'm one of few who want to prevent people getting scammed and HF market being more of a shithole than it is already.

In that case they are dumb and it's their fault.

Also you still didn't answer my question. If someone has fake dispute against them, how is it fair there is a warning under their thread? U say it will be removed...who removes it? From what I've read, staff won't get involved...so who can remove it?
