Officially moving out of my parents house

April 1st, the day where I leave this home.

I'm 25. I've been making very good income for the last 2+ years after graduating college but I still lived at home mostly to help my Mom finances out and to save money. Also I'm middle eastern, and in our culture it's very normal for us to live with our parents well into our 20's.

But due to declining relationship between my Dad/Mom as well as my autistic brother who's temper tantrums/emotional outbursts have only become worse as we've gotten older I can no longer stand this house.

I haven't been exactly living at home for the last few years truthfully. I've been at my girlfriends place/traveling for more than half the year. So I'm barely home as is. Due to saving so much money I traveled throughout most the US which has been dope.

I'm hoping for a better improvement of my relationship with my parents and it being better for my overall mental health.

For those who live no longer with your parents. how old were you and how did it improve your relationship?
Surprisingly the relationship with your parents and brother will get better since they won't have access to you every day. Good luck with everything and make sure you keep in contact and see them at least once a week.
Good luck with moving out, I have lived alone from the age of 18 and all I can say is, you will enjoy your freedom!
I got my first job when I was 16 and moved out when I was 17. By the time I was 25 I had my own car, my own place and a kid.
It’s a huge step and congratulations. It’s a great feeling when you’re on you’re own. It’s different but it’s typically for the better. As Genuine said, it may make your relationship stronger.

It may be scary at first, but in the end it’s for the better.
Staff will never reach out to you off-site. We only communicate on HF.
It will change your life in ways you don't even realize yet, speaking for experience as this happened to me just a few months ago.
I move out to move to Los Angeles at the age of 18 to be a video game tester. I was on my own for the first 3 years there. That was the best time of my life. Thn I decided to have my mom and brother to move out to LA with me... Big mistake.... Everything went down hill from there...

This is a real profession?

Yup, I was a QA Game Tester until I went to prison when I was 32. I worked AT Activision, Neversoft, and 2K Games, and some smaller game studios. I tested Tony Hawk, Guitar Hero, CoD... Tons of games. Money sucked, but I loved my job!
Good luck it's a big step, be responsible.

Moved out at 25, it was strange at first but it gets better. The relationship does get better, less getting on each others' nerves.

the difference between a boy and a man is the level of dependencies, not age.

Moving out of parents home is one level up, mistakes many make after that is dependent on school or job.

When I moved out of my parents home, lots of clear thinking happened which sorta improved my relationship imo

Best Wishes

I too live with my parents for the same reason you did. I’m still building my cash so I have no plans of moving out.

I have built a great relationship with my parents. It was not like this 10 years ago haha

Damn, speaking about getting out of comfort zone and growing in personal/career life this man is a prime example of it.
