I just took my truck to get the oil changed. It seems like I just got the oil changed on it two months ago.. I've been driving a lot lately. I like to get the oil changed at about 5% life lately since it is a company vehicle. My personal vehicle on full synethic I start thinking about an oil change at anything over 5,000 and less than 10,000. How often do you get your vehicle's oil changed?
You're supposed to do it based not only on miles but time too. So let's say you only drive 1000 miles but 9 months have passed.
I have multiple cars and I do a good job of getting the oil changed. Mini I do full-synth (actual required oil) every 5k miles and it's basically once a year. I don't drive really a lot of miles. The Challenger is a beast and takes 0w-40 and a lot of it. I take that to the dealer and it's a $150 oil change. We do that also around 5-6k miles. The Jeep is only 2 years old and done two oil changes. First one was at 11k miles (yeah it slipped a bit too long) and the other at 18k miles. Jeep the wife drives so it obviously doesn't get the mechanical love of the cars I drive.

I knew you drove a Mini, but I didn't know you had a Challenger! I'll have to check your threads and see if you have posted pictures of it. It's surprising how many people just don't maintain their vehicles like they need to. I have co-workers I talked to today who told me they were 15,000 miles over due on the company truck. It's just sheer laziness of their behalf because we get paid to sit while someone else works on the vehicle.
I have been doing oil changes on my cars every 5-6k miles around every six to seven months and also have general maintenance done to the car like alignment checking and tire rotations. Oil changes have gotten expensive for my cars averaging around $150-180 due to being European vehicles but even domestic cars are getting up there in price so I'm not sure what the excuse anymore for dealerships raising prices.

That's my Challenger when I bought it with 1200 miles on it. Now it has 86k and some dings.
Every 3,000-8,000 miles. When it hits 3,000 I start procrastinating about it and the appointment usually gets scheduled around 5-6,000.
I do it once every 2-3 months typically. If I see it under 80%, that’s when I do it

That's a sweet good looking color. That paint looks amazing still too. For being over a decade old now you haven't put many miles on it! Still low mileage and looks great. I love the red Brembo disc brakes. Goes really well with the Plum Crazy Pearl. You ever let it loose on the highway? 😎
I try to do every 2000, I drive pretty hard on a fragile car.
They recommend that was change it every 3,000 miles, but I normally change mine around 2500. I'm very persistent when it comes to changing my oil, as that's one of the most important things you can do when it comes to maintenance of you car.
5,000 - 7,500 miles or every 3 months, whichever comes first. Not much more to it unless you want your car to have longevity issues. Literally about to do mine this weekend with a fluids replenish (washer and transmission). Did brake fluid last month because I replaced the calipers and pads.
I do it as per my service agreement when I bought the car. Every 10,000kms or 12 months, whichever comes first.

Thanks for the negative rating, it’s not my fault I have a frontal lobe brain injury and cannot help speaking my mind. I was starting to think that I had finally found somewhere with like minded people for once in my miserable life and I wouldn’t wish this injury on you or even my worst enemy, I get 24/7 headaches, uncontrolled emotions, I cannot deal with stupidity as incompetence sends me into dissociation as I have an intolerance of others mistakes and then the police are usually called, so I don’t go out if I can help it, unless it’s on my bike or I usually get myself in trouble for no reason or at least no fault of my own, as my condition is medical and yes I would love to be to euthanised to take away my suffering and not have to put up with ignorant people who will never understand what it feels like to have half a lobotomy and the back part of their brain taken away which seriously affects my view on this shitty world. Although the best I could do in this country is have do not resuscitate added to my medical record and I even had to fight for that, I’ve not seen my psychologist for a month now due to annual leave and because this has been undiscovered for many years, the whole of my adult life in fact, I also have multiple personality disorder and PTSD as well as no empathy. Even I don’t know who I am half the time. Obviously you’re not obliged but an explanation would be nice, what have I ever said to upset you?
Oh if it was the Sparrow that thing has been tormenting me for years and years I have hypersensitivity to certain sounds and sparrows happen to be one of those noises, I have been trying to get it to stop for years, although it’s not good to be seen with a gun in public when you’re coming off a ten year fire arms ban (well technically that expired in 2023), so if someone asks a question I will speak the truth, I am not going to avoid answering a question just in case I upset someone. One thing I cannot stand is keyboard warriors, if you have something to say, say it to my face or in other words reply to whatever had offended you in the first place so I can defend myself, if I can be bothered.
I wish you a good evening, by the way my bike could do with an oil change if you’re up for it? Not that I want to see you on the floor or anything. 😘 I can’t even comprehend why I’m explaining myself to you, I don’t know you and from the sounds of things I don’t want to, I’m fed up with explaining why I’m like this although oversharing is also part of a brain injury and unfortunately stupidity, selfishness and ignorance will always be a part of this world, all I’m doing is trying to live my life as comfortably as possible when it feels like the right side of my head is being drilled into permanently like I am being tortured every millisecond, anyway. I look forward to your reply, I am only interested because I was one point away from having 50 points and for probably the first time in a very long while I got excited about something positive as having no motivation as part of my injury is hard to deal with.
Anyway all the best, and as mentioned have a good evening while you think about your actions you naughty girl. By the way it’s not worth telling me what I should or shouldn’t be doing because I don’t have the capacity to take any notice and I have read the rules, over and over, maybe I missed the part that said do not speak your mind, oh hold on does it not say that on every page, I think it does and it may not always be my mind but it is always me so for whatever reason you have taken a dislike to me for I have no choice but to accept, as I have no predisposed disposition as you could be talking to someone completely different tomorrow.
Do not feel you need to respond although if you do reply this will not turn into a flame war I just want to know why and that will be that, simple. I don’t have the motivation or the inclination to argue with… I’ll let you fill in that word(s). Maybe cowardice, ignorance, beautiful flowers, I’ll let you choose.
for my wives car, I change the oil about every 7500 to 10,000 miles. On mine, it's about every 5,000 or so miles.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
Anytime you get your oil changed you should go ahead and do the oil filter as well. I typically wait around 12k miles for both. Full synthetic.
Air filters are similar.
