Have you ever witnessed someone make a fool of themselves repeatedly.. everyone can see it, except for that person? What comes as common sense to the average person, doesn't come across as common sense to his person?
I don't claim to be the smartest person in the world, may not even be the smartest person in the room.. but I know I have common sense, and can clearly see when someone isn't fully there mentally. How do you deal with a subject like this? Do you continue to feed into their mental health madness? Or do you just do your best to try and ignore them, and continue doing your thing? What if you can't avoid them, as they're just as annoying as they are constantly putting themselves around you? Do you just continue to go about your life, or do you actually push the issue and do something about it?
Keep in mind, I had a girlfriend for at least 10 years that suffered from Bi-Polar, Anxiety, Borderline-Personality Disorder.. so dealing with a person with mental health issues is not something I'm unfamiliar with.. but the difference here is, I was dating that person. The subject I'm referring to in this thread, I have no relationship/friendship with.. I really don't even know them, or even want to know them for that matter.. but they continue to put their annoying self around me, while making a complete fool of themselves. How best to deal with a person like this?
The fact that you allow yourself to be surrounded by people who are like that, should also be a great sign to yourself, that you might not have common sense.

I allow myself to be surrounded? Or did I say that the person puts themselves around me? Reading comprehension can take you far in life..

Just tell them to stop bothering you. If that doesn't work. Tell them you are going to call the cops if they don't stop bothering you. If that doesn't work, call the cops.

IS IT ANYTHING LIKE THIS?
This isn't even the type of scenario whereas the cops would be effective, it's not something they would even look into as they haven't broken the law.. they're just super annoying, and are obsessed with trying to follow in my footsteps.. when that's clearly something that will never happen. I really wish they would get a life, and be themselves.. or find someone else to haggle.
I did find the video you attached to be pretty funny, so thanks for the amusement. You're always good for lightening the mood, or making someone laugh.. kudos to you.

If they in any way can affect your life, like how you describe it, then you allow it.

Right.
Like I said, I don't put myself around them.. they put myself around me. It's common knowledge that as humans, we can't control what others do.. so if a person is going out there way to provoke someone else, or continually putting themselves around said person when that person try's to avoid them at all costs... then there isn't anything said person can do to prevent them from "affecting their life" ... so while you entered the thread trying to be a smart ass, thinking you we're being funny.. when you clearly didn't comprehend what I said, none of what you're saying is aiding in giving a solution to my question. I'm not here to go back and forth with you, over your lack of comprehension to what I've said. Do us both a favor, and kindly find somewhere else to troll.

Why would she do that and what do you mean follow in your footsteps? Just tell her off that you don't want her near you and that she is mental and weird. No one think's she's cool and needs to leave you alone. If she cannot understand this. Tell here she's not welcome to you house.
You cannot control her. If she is at a cafe or at a friends house and you're invited just ignore her. Even though he's annoying.
Just ignore her and only get the police involved if she keeps going to where you live. This is considered stalking.
Other than that there's nothing much that you can do about it. You will have to just ignore her at all cost.
It sounds like someone that loves to waste your time. Maybe jealous of your success and wants to waste your time so you can lose any progress in your life.

What do you mean that she puts herself near you in every situation? What does she do that's annoying you too much?

Can you give a little more context? Is it a friend of someone inside your friend group or a co worker? It really depends on the situation, i would need to know a little bit more like an example of what happened that really upset you. Some mentally ill people have different ways of communicating or very poor ways of communication and some you wouldn't even know had mental problems. I Find some of them don't realize or don't mean to annoy people, they are just really unaware maybe more in social settings. It could also just be someone who is really socially awkward. I Have social anxiety and i say a lot of dumb shit.

Just get the mind state that they are special or even think they are a retard. That's what I do... Seems like you are over focusing on this person, maybe you have a problem with obsession and over-analyzing things.
Just think when you first see the person, 'oh there is that retard, wonder what she will do next' laugh it off.
You should be straight up about how you feel if it is that unbearable to be around them. If the person wants to follow in your footsteps, doesn't that mean they look up to you though? I agree people need to be themselves, but there's nothing wrong from wanting to learn from someone!

It's not a she... I gave an example of a she that I dealt with in the past, who has multiple mental health issues... to point out the fact, I don't have a problem with people with mental health issues.. I don't single them, or look at them a specific way. I truly believe no one is perfect, and that everyone has their own mental health issues.. whether minor and insignificant, or whether they're on medication and seeing a doctor.. everyone has their own level mental health struggles. My point was that this person clearly has some unworked on mental health issues, the way they're behaving.
But yes, I agree with you... ignore them at all costs. That's already what I'm doing, I don't speak to them.. and I certainly don't put myself around them.. I was just seeing if anyone had been a similar situation, and had any solid advice that would be beneficial in dealing with the situation. They're not stopping anything that I'm doing, or anything like that.. they're just annoying. Appreciate your input.

It's not a she. But what I meant, is exactly what was said, that the person constantly puts themselves around me.. trying to be like me. I guess one could see it as flattering, but I don't. I see it as annoying. Be yourself. Don't try to be someone you're not. That's whats annoying me so much, the constant trying to mimic my movements. They're not even slick with what they're doing, they're blatantly going out their way to mimic what they see me do.. even when it doesn't bring them the results they're seeking.

Yes, you're right.. some people don't realize what they're doing, or that what they're doing is annoying... and is why I haven't done anything about it. But I'm pretty confident they know what they're doing.
No, they're not in my friend group, or friends with anyone that I'm friends with.. they're not a co-worker, I work for myself.. they're just someone that I guess may be lost in their own life, and looking for someone to mimic? But let's be realistic, if they weren't trying so hard to follow in my footsteps, then they wouldn't be putting themselves around me in the first place... and we wouldn't be in the situation.
People need to be themselves, and not try so hard to be like someone else. God created us all unique for a reason.. so we could be ourselves. There is nothing wrong with seeing someone doing something, and wanting to do something similar. It's when you go out your way to copy everything you see that person doing, in an attempt to be just like them.. that it becomes a problem. And that's where we're at now.

I'm over focusing on this person? ..not sure how I'm over focusing on someone, if I don't put myself around them, I don't talk to them, and I don't give them any inclination that I'm interested in being their associate. I merely shared the situation, without going into too much detail, to get the opinion of others.. kind of confused how you got that I'm overly focusing on them from that?
If anything that person if overly focused on me, trying to follow in my footsteps, and trying to constantly put themselves around me. This is the first time I've ever spoken about this person, is in this thread. If I was overly focused on the person, I would be asking any and everyone I know, how should I deal with them... I would of seeked out advice from a professional.. or even went out of my way to make life hard for them.... I haven't done any of that. This is a forum for open discussion, and so I wanted the advice others who have been in the same position, and maybe had a solution to dealing with them.. without having to actually do something to them. I could never see this person again in life, and I wouldn't lose a second of sleep. I don't know if you just chose the wrong words, but I'm hardly focused on them.. what I want is for them to stop focusing on me. :)

Why are they focusing on you so much anyways? Do they act like they want something from you?
