I know Omni has a lot of work due to the server upgrade, but he also posted a thread about the 2026 Octoberfest event in september : https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6331602

Maybe the event is delayed, at list until the notification system is back (it would be hard to post and reply without being aware about new threads / replies, even tho Charlie Sheen made a script to get around the issue : https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6332808 )

I really hope we'll have the Octoberfest event this year too, it would make a 6th award and a row full of pumpkins. This event has been my favorite for years, always nice to see HF with a lot of activity

We just need to be patient is all. He has a lot on his plate right now obviously and much of which takes priority over starting Octoberfest. Plus if it's a sponsored event, that provides even more reason not to rush it.

I think the requirements could be adjusted depending on the days remaining, it would be fair in my opnion

It seems possible that requirements could end up being less than last year or at least the threads portion. I'm curious to know if he had set numbers in mind already and if so what they were, assuming we don't get them still whenever he makes a thread for the event. I'm also wondering if he will allow the pumpkin to be purchased again this year or if he's reverting to how it was years prior. I definitely prefer it being earnable only, but do also understand allowing it to be purchased too. If it continues as last year went, maybe at some point for this event in future years there will be separate pumpkins for earning and buying or at the very least something a tad unique to the earned one.

I spoke to Omni about this yesterday. Octoberfest is still going to happen. He's been consumed with fixing bugs. He did mention reduced requirements this year.
