This is a compilation of many of the major suggestions that have been suggested in the past. To find a suggestion in this thread press CTRL+F and search for a keyword. For instance, if you have a suggestion for "Viewing Your Posts" search "Posts". This will be in no particular order. If there is a mistake, please post here stating which. If you have any suggestions or other happenings/suggestions that you feel I should add, please post or PM me.
Common Questions/Complaints:
I haven't received my HF 1337 yet!
HF 1337 is now activated manually by Omni. It is no longer instant. If you have paid for your 1337 and have not received it within 48 hours, send Omniscient a PM with the transaction ID. Do NOT make a thread.
When paying for 1337, try to make sure you put your HF user-name on the purchase page.
Where do I get HF Ub3r At? Why have I not received it yet?
Currently to purchase Ub3r you have to be accepted by Omniscient directly. Send him a PM requesting Ub3r and he will get back to you in time if you are accepted or not.
If you are accepted:
You will be given a link to purchase Ub3r just like you would HF 1337. Make sure to include your name on the purchase page. If you do not receive Ub3r within 48 hours, follow the guide listed above.
If you are NOT accepted:
You must wait until Ub3r is publicly purchasable. Until then you must settle with HF 1337.
Hackforums Was Down!
Yes. We all know this. Hackforums will go down quite a lot. We are experiencing a lot of MySQL issues, and Omni is hard at work trying to find the root of the problem.
We do not need a thread stating that HF was down. If it was down for any important reason, Omni will make a thread about it.
Quotes and Bracketed Names
This is a common MyBB glitch. If somebody has brackets in their names and they are quoted, the quotation brackets are messed up. This was said to be fixed in the next MyBB release.

New Forum Suggestions
If you want to suggest a new forum/subforum to be created for it, do a search for the main keyword and make sure there are at least 100 or more threads for your forum. If so, copy the search link and make a thread in the Suggestions and Ideas forum. Paste the link in your thread and await a decision.

Mobile Browsing Theme
This suggests that a mobile browser theme be added to allow those surfing HF on cell-phones easier access to the site.

There is also a "lite" version that you can activate by scrolling ALL the way down to the bottom and hitting "Lite (Archive) Mode".
Notification When Quoted
This simply suggests that a user be notified via PM, email, or any method of contact when a post of theirs is quoted.

This suggests that all new users are brought to attention a pop-up that tells new users the forum rules, suggestions, and anything important that may be worth reading.

BBCode in Signatures
This has been addressed many times. BBCode characters, (i.e. the [/url] tags), count as characters in the signature. Many suggestions have asked to remove this hindrance.

There is no reason to clutter a signature with a whole bunch of spam. It's also a MyBB limitation and a pain to code around.

Thanks Button Removal/Usage
This suggests that something new be done with the "Thanks" button. ATM it is simply a javascript that pops up and states, "Thanks is always appreciated!". Any suggestions suggesting that it either be removed or given an effect of some sort, (A counter for how many times it is clicked for a member), falls into this category.

People bitched about not having it in the past, and Omni added it as a means to stop the whining. Now people complain that it does nothing. There is a reason the reputation system is in place.

This suggests that awards that a user has links back to the awards page, to that specific award.

It reduces the amount of resources it takes for a page to load.

These suggestions are thrown out there to add new categories to the report function.

All rule breakers will fall into some category already listed. If it doesn't, use the "other" option. If it is an entire thread that needs to be reported; report the original post as "other".
Report PM's
This suggests that there should be a report option to report a private message.

It is much easier on the server and others to simply forward it to a staff member.

This suggests that a shout box be implemented on the forums.

We have an IRC channel that does this. Omni has stated that he does not like the look or feel of a shoutbox on the forums.

This suggests that there be a certain post limit before you are allowed to make a thread in the Marketplace.

This gives the members a view of staff involvement. The staff wants you to use your own discretion when dealing with money on this site. They hold no involvement whatsoever.

This suggests that there be a button that shows any replies to a thread AFTER your post. An advanced 'subscription', one might say.

This simply suggests that there be a specific marketplace only for 1337 and/or Ub3r.

This gives the false info that there is safety inside this section, which is not true. Anyone has the ability to be a scammer. It also gives the impression that staff encourages deals, and they have opted to stay out of Marketplace deals entirely.

Custom Group Colors/Group Color Preference
These suggestions deal with the color of your user-name once a group is selected. Suggestions to keep a certain group color while having a different group selected, (i.e. having the Purple Ub3r name color while having 'The Alliance' as your display group), and the suggestions to change group colors fall in this category.

MyBB doesn't allow customization to allow you to have one group as display, yet allow you to keep characteristics of another group;

1337/Ub3r Spoiler
This suggests that there should be a spoiler that only 1337/Ub3r can see.

Post Requirement for Lounge
This suggests that there be a set post requirement to post in the lounge in an attempt to clean up the spam.

Many popular/high posted vets spam the lounge. This would simply place restriction of speech and creativity whilst solving nothing.

This suggests that there be a timer letting you know when you can give out rep again once the 24 hour limit is reached.

You really shouldn't be handing out that many rep to begin with. It isn't worth Omni's time to code something so trivial.

Lowering the Search Time Limit
This suggests that the current wait time be lowered from 30 seconds to anything lower. This has been suggested to be exclusive to HF 1337 and Ub3r as well.

It is a huge resource hog. 30 seconds isn't too long to wait and really helps the server load.

Auto-Thread Lock
This suggests that over some time inactive and old threads should be locked automatically to prevent necroposting.

There are some instances where necroposting is alright. Omni has coded a plugin to warn a user that they are about to necropost and shouldn't do so without a good reason. He has yet to implement it.

This suggests that people be able to pay via SMS/phone for subscriptions such as 1337.

The cost to allow payment via SMS is extremely high. It triples the normal price. That price would impact the people buying 1337.

Snippet Of PM In email.
This is basically an Idea stating when you get a notification through email, there should be a snippet, meaning 3-4 sentence long description of what the PM is about.

Ban yourself.
It stops your account from having changed passwords, disallowing you to post, give reputation, receive reputation, read PMs, receive PMs or anything else, this helps if you think you're getting hacked. This can't be abused, since you're basically limited + extra limitations.

This is basically saying there should be a link on the rep it self saying "Rep Abuse" sending a PM or notification to a staff member.

I think the limit for sending a PM to multiple users should be increased to 20
from 5 for ub3rs.

Omni doesn't have access to Transaction IDs because you pay Reg.net and Reg.net pays Omni, so Transaction IDs are different.
