[Review] Beyond the Boundary

I am still looking for a new graphic for this. While I like the one Harmony made for this it is a series specific graphic and would like one that is a bit more broad. PM me if you can help.

Synopsis
One day, high school student Akihito Kanbara instinctively goes to save his fellow schoolmate, Mirai Kuriyama from committing suicide. Following his pleas, Mirai suddenly stabs Akihito with a sword formed out of her own blood and is shocked to discover that Akihito is an immortal "half-youmu"—the offspring of a supernatural creature called a youmu and a human. After learning that Mirai is a Spirit World Warrior (異界士 Ikaishi?)—specialists who protect humans from being affected by youmu—and the last surviving member of her spirit hunting clan, their lives become intertwined as Akihito seeks to help Mirai gain the confidence to kill youmu so that she may stop attempting to kill him as practice.

Characters
Akihito "Akkey, Akkun, Meganest" Kanbara
[Image: 222683.jpg]
Akihito is a second-year high school student who is half-human and half-youmu who heals quickly from any wound he receives. At school, he is known for his attraction over glasses, to the point of giving himself the nickname "Meganest." He is a member of the Literary Club.

Mirai Kuriyama
[Image: 217075.jpg]
Mirai is a first-year high school student with the ability to manipulate blood, an ability that is unique even in the spirit world. This ability causes her to be isolated, leading her to jump off the roof of the high school until she is saved by Akihito.
Clumsy and a bit aloof, Mirai rarely stands out in school. In fact, she struggles pretty much in life; she has to earn her own money to make ends meet, but her constant fear of actually encountering a youmu prevents her from earning an income from slaying youmu, which most spirit world warriors take on as part of their profession. To make things worse, her hobby of writing blog articles about bonsai is often ridiculed on the Internet.

Mitsuki Nase
[Image: 222649.jpg]
A sadistic second-year student and the president of Literary Club. She is a Spirit World Warrior who hails from the prestigious Nase family.
She is with Akihito in order to observe him, but she is in fact very worried about him. She is on good terms with Akihito and is thus able to speak with him in a very frank manner.

Hiroomi Nase
[Image: 222655.jpg]
Hiromi Nase is the eldest son of the famous "spiritwolders" Nase family and Mitsuki's elder brother. He is a third year high school student.
It appears that something happened between Hiromi and Akihito in the past, but now they are on such good terms that they can joke around with each other.
He loves his sister a lot and tries to protect her from harm. Although the siblings may bicker with each other, they always reconcile. He has a huge sister complex.
Due to his barrier powers, he is extremely sensitive to cold, and is almost always seen wearing a muffler or scarf.

My Opinion
To start off, I really really like this show. I felt it had a really good idea for the story to me and a great mix of action, drama, and slight comedy. Obviously its not a comedy and doesnt try to be. The little jokes are just a bit of relief and I love it, its not over used. The second thing I liked was that the art was really good. Very appealing. And the fight scenes were A+ in my book. There was only two things I had a problem with. One was that the character development wasnt great. The two main protagonists were the only characters that really developed, the rest just stayed the same entirely. The other thing was that it was pretty confusing. There were multiple times where it did some weird flashback thing that was for like 5 seconds but was enough to have you confused and going back through the last episode. It may not have had the greatest plot but I still liked it and think this show is worth the watch.

My Rating - 8/10

I've been wanting to watch this. I'll add it to my "To Watch." Good review. Very nice format and use of pictures.
Thread layout is really nice, I like how you added the short descriptions for each character as well. The ED to this series is so catchy!

Thank you thank you.
Yeah, I really liked the music. I actually watched the OP every episode instead of skipping it lol 🤝
Another nice review, Azsry told me about it some weeks ago so i've already downloaded it.
I will watch it ONE DAY(probably after 1 month).
Definitely going to be watching this pretty soon, specifically because of this review.
Excellent job.
What the hell, I'm not even done Episode 1 and I want it to have Season 2, 3, 4, 10,000 already and I want to put it in my Top 5. Why did I wait so long before watching it. It's funny as hell too.

Still my #1 favorite to this day. It doesn't do much justice, but there is a movie sequel.
WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWO. WHAT IS THIS SHIT. YOUR MAKING MIRAI OUT TO BE SOME ANGSTY SUICIDAL TEENAGER.

She never had any intent to jump nor is she depressed enough to want to end her life. Akihiko falsely assumes she is trying to kill herself at the beginning of the anime.
Also there is a ton of character development in the anime if you look past the pro-tags. Specifically in Hirome about his insecurities as becoming head of the nase house when he comes of age. Theres also a ton of development in the movie for other characters such as akihiko's mom etc.

Isn't the movie just a recap of the serie though? Or it's a completely new story?

There's two movies. One is a recap of the original series while the other is a sequel.
So the second part of the movie? Can you link me them?
