Section's top posters

I think it would be a fun thing to look at people who have the most posts in a specific section. Could be added to Member search, or just a new option in a button in the section called "See top posters". I just want to see who hangs out in the section the most, and it's not hard to make it work.

I am really hoping some members would support me, it would add character to the forum because I have not seen it yet.
Hmm might be fun to see who is the most active poster in that section, but it might make more people spam random LQ posts to obtain a place in the top posters section.
This would be nice if it was implemented. I would find it amusing.
I fully support this suggestion. I would love this implemented.
I think it would create a nice sort of competition for members.
Think this would encourage a lot of LQ shit, nice idea though.

It shouldn't. If the posts are Low Quality, the posts can just be junked. The current system works fine, this will just be a nice addition, it won't mean anything special.

However, a top poster for each section wouldn't be necessary. Members will try to show off to be on the top, which will result in LQ content within the section just to 'boost'.

I was aware of that feature, but there is no actual top posters for sections. And if that stat exists, it promotes LQ by making users post the most, this should just be a fun fact for each section.
Would most likely turn out good then become a challenge or achievement for users to become top posters, then they'll start spamming meaningless shit.
Seems like everyone is in agreement that this would create way too many LQ posts of meaningless because they wanted to be the top poster in that section. Could be one of the reasons it isn't already implemented.

Or nah. This in no way promotes LQP, and if there is LQP, it could be junked and the user warned.

Which would create more work for the staff to have to go through countless LQ report after LQ report for something that doesn't even really make sense.

While in theory this may seem nice, there really is no point...why does it really matter who the top poster is?

I can come up with a paragraph for each reply I make, doesn't mean what's in it won't be meaningless, just so I can get top poster.

I already suggested this (kind of) in the past and Omniscient refused. It would also be very resource intensive on the server, so it won't happen in my opinion.

My era of providing technical support and malware removal on HackForums is over, so you can stop PM'ing me about it. Sorry.

Not really, people could just spam to be in the top poster of the day.

Everything is resource intensive on this site, it attracts the members. The more features, the more profit and enjoyment for the members.

Tell that to Omni.
But anyway, as I said, it has been suggested and denied already, so there's no point in creating that thread I guess. Good luck too.
