Intro and general opinion of the forums:
- If you didn’t read my previous (and very shitty) feedback thread from 5 months ago, my name is Tom and I am 17. I’ve been on this forum for a bit over 2 and a half years. I’ve been wanting to do an updated feedback thread since so much has happened in such a short time. It feels so weird that it took me over 2 years to break 1,000 PMs and now I’m constantly clearing space. You can read more about my HF story on my old thread, which is probably the only good part of that feedback.
Decided to add this just because it will be easier than clicking a link.
I joined the forums mainly to find a modded client for Minecraft. I slowly started coming back more often and posting there more and more. I eventually posted everyday and opened up more to giving suggestions and my opinions. As much as I hate that section of the forums now, it was my home.
I eventually upgraded myself to L33T and made threads in different sections. After about 6 months I went inactive for a while. I didn't even sign on once and was going through a very big personal change. On May 26 2012 I came back and showed my "face" back into the community. I was surprised at the changes in the short time and even more surprised people remembered me.
Fast forward to 7-23-12 when I bought Ub3r. I started to have spurts of activity for a few weeks where I would post a lot or barely any time at all. I moved into the iOS section and helped out answering people's questions in there. I've now been recently bouncing around in video game sub-forums.
Community:
- The community here is great. I love being able to talk to hundreds of members everyday and reading all of the new threads that pop up. There are a bunch of great people here who I love to see post around in the same sections I venture into. It is also great being able to see how much we all help each other whether it be with a program, graphics, or even just a stressful time in our lives. The amount of good members and helpful people outweigh the trolls and spammers to the point we don't really notice them.
Sections:
The Lounge - This is the place that I’ve posted the most, simply because of how widespread the topics are. I can find interesting threads or silly ones that really have no meaning.
SRPP - This section was fun to go into, until people got mad over another person’s opinion. I did enjoy the users who did debate and actually had sources backing themselves up. I’ve stopped posting a lot there but I enjoy lurking and reading some good debates.
Minecraft Griefing - This was the section that started it all. Back when I was a wee lad I was interested in Minecraft modding and clients. Back in those days there were only about 3 clients that were given out to the public. When MC started getting popular that is when the subforum started going crazy. I loved that place as bad as it was and it is sad that I don’t see a lot of the older members anymore. It seems the same now with new members filling in the shoes of those who leave.
Innuendo - I’ve been very active in this section recently and am surprised on how big my thread has gotten in there. The support from members on it has been great and every time someone posts and PMs me I get a smile on my face. The section is great for people who are looking for advice as well as reading some funny stories that have happened to people. The only annoying thing about it are the trolls who make threads or just post rude or off topic things.
Grand Theft Auto - This is my new home that has replaced the griefing section. I love GTA and love playing with others. Sadly this section is inactive and only gets a few posts or threads a day. I wish there was a community feel when going there but some members only post a few times a month and it is really hard to find who is active. There are also some low quality threads that roll through from time to time and never get junked or closed.
iOS and iDevices - This section is a ton of fun to go explore in. I love iDevices and jailbreaking most of the products I own. The section is always full of new tips, updates, and features that you have to go back. Adam and Grin put a ton of time and effort into helping people and I give them both props for that.
Staff:
Omniscient - You are the grand leader of HF. There really isn’t anything that I can say other than thank you for running the site the way you do. I’ve never had any issues with you and I plan to keep it that way. You are a bit intimidating, but once you look past that you are a great person.
Xch4ng3 - I rarely see you posting around, but you do your job well. Thanks.
Factor8™ - The same with Xch4ng3, I never see you post. You are the ninjas of the staff team.
Judge Dredd - I remember when you were an Admin and you answered the questions I had well. You have zero tolerance for rule breaking, but are a great guy to communicate with.
Paradoxium - The bans page has your name all over it. You are a robot around here and I appreciate you protecting HF from trolls and other idiots.
Emylbus - You are new to the Staff team, but having been doing a great job. You respond to PMs quickly and are friendly to talk to. You also made a great userscript for the forums that I use everyday.
Groups:
Groups I am currently in:

- This by far has been one of my favorite group on the site. Vinnie and the other leaders run this group perfectly. The subforum is a very relaxing place and I do enjoy how much activity is there. I also really enjoy how much the leaders interact with the members.

"Instinct has probably been my favorite group and probably the most HQ oddly enough to say, I know that it's viewed as the group of trolls that can't take anything seriously, but this group has showed better group spirit and seriousness in what they do than any other group and that's rather sad considering everyone calls it a group of trolls and it puts other groups that focus in those categories to shame.
I understand Instinct isn't considered the most prestigious group among the group family in HF, but I think it has the most class of all the groups just from my experience."

- 143 is the group I respect the most. Daisy and Eternal have done a great job choosing member s to be a part of this group. Each person that I’ve talked to in this group has been kind, judge free, and supportive. Hopefully one day I could get to know you guys more.

- This group has been known as the “most exclusive group on HF” which does have truth to it. I know a few of the members of this group and they definitely deserve their spots in this group.

- What I consider the hackers of HF. The members of this group already have to be advanced in their skills to be considered, which shows quality is important to you. You guys know your shit and I am scared of contacting you in anyway other than on HF.

- The Brotherhood is another group that I see in almost every section. A lot of people I talk to are in this group and they are some of the greatest members here. I love seeing tutorials and other related threads coming from this group.
If your group isn’t on this list, it doesn’t mean I dislike it or disrespect it. I am just not interested in that group at this time. If enough people request it, I’ll add the rest of the groups here.
