This is a few of the topics that a lot of noobs don't know about. There are a lot of threads on it but I want to consolidate some of the important ones. Feel free to PM me with any questions :)

OP : refers to the original poster of a thread.

Prestige : Earned by posting and gaining rep. The more posts you have the more prestige you get. You can also obtain prestige by reporting posts that break the rules.

Rep : a lot of people think this is important. Rep is basically people's opinion on your performance on hackforums. Get rep by helping the community and being a good hackforumee that follows the rules. DO NOT POST A THREAD ASKING FOR REP. you will get a LOT of negative rep. Leet users can give +1 or neutral. Ubers can give + or - 3 and neutral. Don't ever neutral or neg rep someone for scamming without backing it up with evidence. Rep is also used before making deals to see what a user is like. Just like how eBay works, if a user has a ton of negative rep, they probably aren't the person you should trust or buy things from

Repfuck : when you are stripped of all your positive rep.

Awards : given by doing various things such as donating money to HF (PM omni for the link), helping people, becoming Uber etc... Here is the full list https://hackforums.net/myawards.php

Groups : groups are communities in HF that help each other out and have a mission. They cost a ton of money to start. Idk exactly how much but I've heard thousands of bucks. So you can either buy into some groups, or show them that you would be a valuable asset to them. To see what the different groups are about or to apply to one, go to My CP then click on group memberships on the lower left hand side of the page.

Threads : try to search for a few minutes about a question you have before making a new thread on it. 90% of the time your question has been answered in a different thread.

Mentat and other weird words under your name : signify the amount you post. There are different levels such as harkonnen and mentat and so on that change at certain post mile markers. When you reach 50 , 250 are the first two changes. You can change this to whatever you want it to say if you buy leet.

Spoilers : to add a spoiler in a thread you will have to do it manually like this Spoiler (Click to View) (spoiler) (/spoiler) only with brackets instead of parentheses

to change colors : (color=red) whatever you want to say (/color) with brackets instead of parentheses

And finally, just don't be a douchebag : you will get along fine and earn rep and prestige and have a happy life if u don't act like a douche :) people don't like when you posting threads asking for free stuff either.

Side note about rep. Rep can be a good thing besides having people's opinion. I use it to research before making deals within the marketplace, or partnerships on HF. Until the vouch system gets a a finish that is.
