Sales Tags do not expire. Once it's purchased it's part of your thread.

Your thread must be under the Marketplace category.

Be aware it's currently setup so that you cannot update the Sales Tag even if you buy another one. This might change and I might give discount for update. I'm going to wait and see how this goes before I take that next step.

The ordering system should be Tamper Data proof. I have all checks for security correctly in place. Or so I believe.

Honestly I'm not interested in hearing complaints about how it looks. I spent a lot of time on this. I'm happy to make adjustments but after all the work I did, this is here to stay.

If you have any problems feel free to post in this thread or PM me. However the system should be setup pretty idiot proof. One of the best GUI I have done for HF. It's very thorough error checking. This is a set-it-forget-it feature for me.

I feel as if members might abuse their tag, i.e. changing the title and OP of a thread after they sell a particular item and re-using the thread for another.

Is there a way to prevent this, or are you okay with that?

I'm not selling anything right now, but I think it'd be annoying if every single thread has a big red "Best Offer!" in the title 😝

This is going to be great, surprised at the fact it doesn't expire, seems pretty flashy.
The "view new posts" is usually older, popular posts (which are usually stickies and will have this), so it's going to be crazy colorful all the time.

Not sure it will be a problem because the thread replies won't be related. I have to think about that and also see if it does indeed become a problem. If so I may have to set an expiration date on these. More hassle but I'll try to address abuse.

Best is relative term so it can't be untruthful. I'm going to do my best to select words in the Tags that can't be falsely advertised.

Honestly I can't see that every thread in the Marketplace is going to pay for this. Yes, you'll see more than a few but I can always make it more expensive if it's really flooding the Marketplace. Just like I do with sticky prices.

Ahh. Just curious because I remember when you implemented ub3r only for the online accounts section l33t members were editing their previous threads in those sections and just using those to sell.

Obviously you can just report them but if there was a way of preventing those without staff interactions, that would make life much easier.

Maybe two week tags for $10 OMC and never expiring tags for, say, $30 OMC. That would ensure only serious sellers are getting the benefit of the doubt.

When I'm 100% sure it's working and it's out of beta then I'll do that and probably place a Marketplace Discussion sticky too.

Members already put most of these terms into their titles. I don't see the Tags causing conflict but if it does I'll review the tag text.
