Private Data has been Removed from the Orders Database
On February 20th, 2016 Omniscient officially removed the stored private data of members from the Orders Database. With the option of upgrading and/or paying with PayPal having been recently removed Omniscient decided to remove nine columns from the Orders Table. Those nine being; First Names // Last Names // Emails // Addresses // Cities // States // Zip Codes // Countries // Phone Numbers. These columns have been completely removed so that even on previous orders there is no stored information. If you would like to read Omniscient's thread on the matter you may do so, here.

Trust Scan Updates
On February 22nd, 2016 Omniscient made it so that all members are now able to use the Trust Scan feature, even those who have zero posts. Also with that on our Trust Scan page is a new line for 'Last Gauth/2FA Validation'. Meaning, when members click on their 'Test Code' option on the Gauth page it will change the last date on that new line, the same as it would on the 'Gauth Activation Date' line located above. Primarily this will hopefully help members realize who actually has access to the 2FA of that account and who doesn't. All members have to do is ask the person on the other end of the transaction to simply click the 'Test Code' button and that way they'll have a much better idea of whether or not they're truly dealing with the owner of that account. With that, the later the date is of the activation and if the last validation date has a recent change date then there is a much higher chance that you are actually dealing with the real account owner. If you would like to read Omniscient's announcement simply make your way to this thread, here.

Thanks to your feedbacks, we are now trying out a new color scheme. This time we're going for a semi-dull approach to avoid having distracting headers. Do you guys prefer the bright color scheme or the semi-dull color scheme?

Al-Shabab Attack Somali Hotel
Al-Shabab militants attacked a hotel in the Somali capital Mogadishu on Friday. At least nine people were killed in the attack. Al-Shabab in an insurgent group in Somalia with ties to al-Qaeda. It is common for the group to launch attacks in the capital on Friday, which is the first day in the Somali weekend. Only one day before the group launched mortars on the nearby presidential palace, killing three people. The militant used a car bomb outside the Somali Youth League hotel. Another explosion happened at a park known as the Peace Garden. Four militants were killed by police who subdued the attack.

Two People Die in Nepal Plane Crash
Nepalese police and helicopters responded to the scene of a plane crash in the district of Kalikot. Both the pilot and co-pilot were killed, and the nine passengers were injured. Reports say that the plane attempted to make an emergency landing in the rural mountainous area, due to technical problems with the plane. The flight left Jumla and was supposed to travel to Nepalganj. The crash comes only days after another plane crash killed 23 people in northwest of Kathmandu, due to harsh weather conditions. Nepal has a notoriously bad flight safety record, and restrictions have been placed on Nepal-based flights by the European Union.

Indian Teen Escapes Torturous Debt Bondage
15 year old Marimuthu was forced to work at a sweet shop in Pundarpur India, as a part of a debt bondage deal his mother made. His mother needed to repay a debt of approximately $290, and sent her son to work at the shop for one year for a total of $580. The boy describes harsh conditions, where he worked from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. every day, in cramped spaces, under constant verbal abuse by his employer. Marimuthu had a bad headache one day, and needed to sit down to rest for a moment. That's when the shop owner verbally attacked him, and threw a pan of hot oil across his legs. The boy took the $3 he had saved and ran away, taking trains for two days to get home. Authorities are not confident about getting justice for the incident, due to jurisdiction issues. The Global Slavery Index estimates that nearly 16 million people have been forced into similar debt bondage or other similar situations in India.

Popcorn Time is Officially Back
Earlier this week, part of the team apparently behind popcorntime.io announced a comeback, four months after being shut down and hit with a lawsuit from the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). Like its predecessor, the new service offers sleek streaming-video apps that play a large selection of pirated movies, all distributed via BitTorrent. The developers stated in a blog post that "after the 'MPAA incident,' we're a little diminished, and we've chosen a new direction: we're shifting from an active development of Popcorn Time to a more or less resilience-driven development."

Samsung Wins Appeal in $120M Patent Dispute With Apple
Samsung scored perhaps their biggest legal win over Apple in their long-running patent war. On Feb. 26, a federal appeals court overturned a 2014 verdict that slapped the tech giant with nearly $120 million in damages. As Reuters reports, the three-judge appeals court unanimously disagreed with the lower court's findings against Samsung. Two Apple patents, including one for its slide-to-unlock feature, are invalid and a third was not infringed, the court ruled. The decision not only ensures Samsung does not have to write another check to Apple; it also can continue using the smartphone features and will not have to make any changes to older models.

Microsoft Officially Ends Project Astoria
After months of speculation, Microsoft has officially closed down "Project Astoria" – a software tool first announced in 2015 to help developers bring their Android apps to Windows 10 phones, tablets, and PCs. Project Astoria was just one of four software bridges from other platforms that Microsoft announced last year to try and grow its library of Universal Windows Platform apps. The other three were Project Islandwood for Objective-C iOS apps, Project Centennial for existing Win32 and .NET apps, and The Web Bridge for HTML and JavaScript web apps. Microsoft says it's still proceeding with those three projects.

Norman Reedus, and Hideo Kojima Reunion
Hideo Kojima posted a photo on his twitter account this week with Norman Reedus by his side which enthralled countless fans of the Silent Hill franchise. After a dispute between Konami and Kojima, Silent Hills was cancelled indefinitely. However, Hideo Kojima, Norman Reedus, and Guillermo del Toro have all released statements recently exclaiming that they would all love to work together in the near future. Kojima is eager to expand the popularity of his recently independent production studio, Kojima Productions. New games have been reported to already be in development. Silent Hills might live on under a different name and restore hope for fans of horror genre gaming.

Street Fighter Disappoints
The highly anticipated Street Fighter 5 hit stores February 16, but was met with harsh criticism from critics and long time fans of the series. It is not all bad though. The graphics received an extensive overhaul, missed characters returned, and the gameplay is extremely fun and innovative. However, Capcom's latest entry into the Street Fighter franchise feels incomplete and hollow due to its lack of features and small cast. Street Fighter 5 lacks an arcade mode and has just 16 characters upon its release. Street Fighter 5 has future content including 6 new characters planned, but as of now it does not feel worthy of a purchase. As it stands, Street Fighter 5 is a work in progress with boundless potential. Capcom should have held off on a premature release and delivered a finished product.

Miss Universe Invited to Final Fantasy 15 Release Date Event
Final Fantasy 15 has been in development for about 10 years and the news everyone has been waiting for is nearly here. Square Enix will be holding a release date announcement event on March 30. Longtime Final Fantasy fan and Miss Universe title holder, Pia Wurtzbach, will be in attendance. Square Enix reached out to Wurtzbach this week and her response was nothing short of ecstatic. The news that fans of Final Fantasy have been waiting for is nearly here and Miss Universe will be one of the first to hear it. Final Fantasy 15 is expected to hit shelves sometime this year.
